Intercept, fumble, saves it with his left hand. Brilliant? Nope. Well done? Yes.

    Smart too.

Read an article he wrote on the current difficulties with VAR in soccer and he absolutely nailed the problems.

Yep. I have mentioned before but I went and saw him speak at AKL Grammar school.

Being the only gay in the village was tough on him before he came out. Was an attempted suicide, etc but seems like a really together guy now and yes, @Victor-Meldrew , smart too.

I'm watching Kobe Kobelco Steelers v Canon Eagles on Sky Sport 1.

Quite cool to see all those NZ players on the field again, even if it's in Japan and although it's mostly in the Kobe team (5 Brodie Retallick, 6 Tom Franklin, 10 Dan Carter, 12 Richard Buckman, 14 Fraser Anderson, 22 Andy Ellis etc).

@Machpants It finished fifty points to sixteen in favour of Dan Carter's team, Carter helping himself to about twenty of those, if that is any help.

@Machpants Kobe was good; Canon Eagles only in patches. It kind of reminded me of watching preseason games in NZ. Not the best rugby, but still entertaining. A mix of players you know and players you don't know.

Apart from one try, none of Kobe's points were scored by Japanese players ...
I think games played between teams with fewer non-Japanese players and an equal number of non-Japanese players, will tell us more about rugby in Japan.

Sky broadcasts only one game live per weekend and I don't know how they decide which game they'll show. Tbh, I was only watching to see the Kiwis play, but will probably watch the game each week regardless of the number of Kiwis, just to be able to form an opinion.

@Stargazer Ta, I've not really watched any but might try and catch one.

Fans from both sides were critical of the French ref, but those from Glasgow took exception, calling his performance 'utter gash' from an 'absolute cowboy'.

After the 2019 WC, any Scottish side complaining about anything falls on my deaf ears.

    Both of them.

    Very heavily.

So, it looks like both Julian Savea and Isaia Toeava will be looking for a new club ...

@Dice Yes, he's been good. It's disappointing, although I understand the need for rejuvenation of an aging squad.
