@raznomore yep, but if last year showed us anything about Kawhi, it's that he doesn't give a fck about the regular season, and he knows how to peak at the right time.

I have no idea how LA plan to guard Kawhi and PG (though you could say the say re AD), but I think the biggest issue LA have is that they don't/can't trust their outside shooting. Clips just have so much more offense, and I fully expect them to dial up their defense when it matters.

Take a look at Kawhi's stats last year:

    Reg Season: 32mpg, 25.5, 7.6 and 5.1
    Playoffs: 39mpg, 30.5, 9.1 and 3.9

That's a huge offensive leap, not to mention the extra 7mpg of defense.

With PG also building from the injury layoff, I reckon they're still pretty scary.

But I will be rooting for LeBron!

The Clippers have the absolute best defensive duo to go at Lebron in a playoff series with Kawhi and PG.

The Clippers have won both games against Lakers this season. Lebron found it pretty tough to get his offense going in either game, whereas Kawhi looked like the clear best player in both games.

It's still hard to split the two teams though, but I'll give the edge to the Clippers in a series. Things can change if some trades get made.

@Dice Andre Iguodala and Darren Collison could help tip the balance for one of the contenders. Maybe Kevin Love too

@canefan I've seen Derrick Rose linked to the Lakers.

Andre Drummond is expected to be traded. The Clippers could really use someone like him, but they might need to give up too much depth to acquire him.

Love is a tough sell for a contender because he's got an incredibly ugly looking contract. Someone will need to be super sure that he can get them over the line to make that trade.

@Dice I'm not sure I'd take him. Iggy can still play and has championship pedigree

Markelle Fultz led the Magic to a one point win over my Lakers in LA. I'm happy for the kid, who had such a bad start to his NBA career, he seems ready to start delivering

Playing more like he did in college without the nerve issues in the shoulder and a lot more freedom. A better environment for him as well.

After a loss to the 76ers, Kyrie Irving blames his teammates rather than focussing on his poor personal performance, reinforcing the idea that he is a shitty teammate

    Kyrie truly is a dick.

Great to see Fultz back, poor kid was none tough mental space, let alone dealing with the physical.

What about Ja Morant right now, looks amazing and seems to have all the right mental traits. Shooting 50/40/80 which is insane as a rookie.

How Frank Vogel won over the Lakers and their superstars

How Frank Vogel won over the Lakers and their superstars

How has a retread coach made it work inside the league's most treacherous minefield?

Don't underestimate how hard coaching lebron and the Lakers is. Vogel sounds like an ordinary guy doing an extraordinarily good job

Especially given his shooting action is a bit funky. Must watch TV are the Grizzlies.

Jaron Jackson coming on with young shooter Dillon Brooks. Then they’ve got 3 decent vets in big Val, Crowder and Kyle Anderson.

Been watching a fair bit of NBA over the past few weeks. It is the most interesting season I can remember.

Whether it's the flattened draft odds reducing the appeal of tanking, or the fact that the traditional strugglers have finally found a few good players (eg. Phoenix, Orlando, Sacramento), there really are no bad teams in the whole league.

And making it even better is the fact that there is no Warriors-esque superteam who are almost guaranteed to win the title, so you have a recipe for watchable games every day.

Thankfully Zion is coming back in the coming week, so a normally slow period will get a bit of juice.

    It's a pretty good season.

In the West, the Nuggets and the Jazz have quietly got themselves to 29 wins with little talk. The Lakers, the Clippers, and Harden are taking all the chat in the West.

The East looks like a procession for the Bucks, with a host of teams in a shitfight to make the Conference finals against them.

There's still half a season to go!

OKC keep rolling, beating the Rockets in Houston, much to CP3's pleasure

Russell was ok-ish but Harden was horrible 1/17 3pt attempts 9/29 shooting.

Adams was out after 2min with an ankle issue. Nerlens Noel was out before the tip. Yet Harden is allowed to take 17 shots from beyond the arc. Clint Capella has 2 points up until the 4th. That is criminal. Both your opponents starting & back up centre are out and there's not though of exploiting that. I'm starting to think D'Antoni can't coach.

teh Rockets are just horribly assembled, and are based on analytics. And if those averages don't work out, they are cooked.

If McLemore, House and Gordon don’t hit shots, they can’t win against decent teams let alone good teams.

It will be interesting how they use him. The Pelicans have a lot of good pieces and Gentry likes to use small lineups playing Ingram at the 4 when he’s really a 2 or 3. Ball is on a great run of games. Holiday is Mr Reliable and is a defensive machine. Ingram playing to an All-Star level.

This is why the NBA season is too long. The Celtics hosed the Lakers today, with both lebron and Davis playing good minutes. That should be big news. But it's basically "meh"
