Went and watched it last night. Felt like I was five years old again from the moment the score started. Looked like Episode IV redux and unsurprisingly that's what made it so good for me. Ignored plot holes or sequencing issues because I'm fairly certain I didn't notice shit like that when I was a kid. Sets it up nicely for Episode VIII. Well done J.J. Abrams, I'll put the pitchfork away.

I better go google that!

Just thought crossed my mind during the 2nd or 3rd viewing...
-
The falcon would be a fluffybunny to steer when you're tired, you'd see a gap and think you could get through only to remember you have about 20 metres of vehicle to your left.

I didn't mind Hans death all things considered, I think as I mentioned the scene that annoyed me was him reasoning with those space pirates. Fuck sake, him and Chewie are decorated war heroes, they shoulda blasted those fucken punks like the bitch asses they were..... -

Excuse me? This thread is about providing opinions about a film. A FILM. If you are so precious that you cant stomach criticism about a FILM you liked then God help you in real life. That's pretty farking pathetic Virgil. -

As i said everyone is entitled to their opinions. We get it, you hate it. But it seems obvious your in the minority and most are enjoying the experience of reliving child hoods revolving around the original movies.

You on the other hand are bordering on trolling and taking any chance to rip it to shit.
-

Wtf? Trolling? I'm merely stating my opinion and most, if not all, of my posts have been in response to comments from others. I'm quite aware that I'm in the minority and I have absolutely no problem with that. But apparently in your world everyone with a minority view about a film should just stfu because it might hurt your warm fuzzy feelings.

Btw I'm a massive Star Wars and will watch the next films no matter what. But I was disappointed with the film and have every farking right to express that opinion. Yes it is Star Wars, but it's still just a bloody film. -

Ain't that the truth.

Anyone else ( apart from M4L to state the obvious ) a bit creeped out that they used to find Leia hot in that metal bikini? The years haven't been kind. -

It's also very clear she has done fuuuck all acting in the past 30 years...

I watched a 'comedy' a year or 2 back, where these guys were talking about knocking one off, and one of them was hassling his mate for knocking one off to Carrie Fisher, he replied saying everyone had done it over her at some point, to which his mate replied, yes, in her heyday, not as she is now!

I think she might be Finns Mum, Lando ( who was very erudite and charming ) dusted her up when Han was in carbonate then fucked off to another galaxy when he found out Leia was expecting. Han and Leia are clearly separated and I'm sure a kid who has joined the dark side isn't the only reason.

I gave my reasons above. In any case, this guy was a hero who saved Luke's life twice and who played a vital role in destroying the Empire. The start of E6 was all about him being rescued. It would have been ok if he went out in a blaze of glory or sacrificed himself for the many. But no, he was killed by his bloody Marilynmanson. He didn't even get a proper burial, his body just fell into a void. That was shit.

Just like great sports stars, you don't get to choose how you go out; sometimes it's with a bang, other times with a whimper
-

He asks her "it wasn't all bad?" They always drove each other nuts and my take from the film was that is what did it in the end, along with the trauma of their son going rogue
-

I don't understand the criticism. This is an inter-galactic civil war with evil people in it. Evil people generally don't want to let the good heroes go out in a blaze of glory. Mind you they wouldn't have destroyed Starkiller Base without Han.

You are meant to be angry at Kylo Ren not at JJ Abrams if you don't like Han dying.
-

Adam Driver kept the identity of his Star Wars character from his wife for three years.

The Girls actor plays villain Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and admitted he was happy to keep the secret from his wife Joanne Tucker because the surprise was worth it.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said: "It was great. I kept it from my wife for three years, just because the payoff of her seeing it with everybody was so worth it."

Meanwhile, Adam loved playing Kylo Ren because he is "unpolished and reckless".

He explained to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I feel there's a recklessness about him that's maybe not normally associated with the 'Dark Side'.

"You normally think of order, and structure, and full commitment and no hesitation...he's just a little bit more unpolished.

It's in his costume, in his lightsaber - how you kind of get the sense that it could just not work at any moment; that it could just blow up. That's kind of like a big metaphor for him."

They basically said in the movie that they would explain this later. 2 more movies still to come. R2D2 suddenly spluttering into life at the end was more problematic from a plot perspective. Presumably he started up because Rey had come to the station who is probably related to Luke somehow.
