Sky Q is awesome and a search will search across all sky channels, Netflix, iPlayer, itv hub, etc. They've just atarted a new crime channel which is basically Oxygen too. Annoyingly no Prime though.

    The Blacklist

I've finished the first half of Season 7. I only still watch this show because of James Spader but I seriously doubt even he can save this show now. They are dragging on the current plot line and continue to showcase the dumbest FBI agent on TV and perhaps the most annoying character on a TV show that I watch. If the writers don't wrap this up soon no one will care when the "truth" is finally known.

@Bovidae I remember I started trying to watch it for the same reason as you and very swiftly dropped it for the same reasons you mentioned. Pretty glad I did now!

    Zomboat!

After a Zombie apocolypse hits Birmingham, 2 sisters decide to head to London on a canal boat....

Came across this, sounded like it might be ok if done well.

It was better than ok, I really enjoyed it, 6 eps at 22 or so mins each, short, silly, punchy, fun.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, and I might have Booboo'd:
    Giri / Haji.

Have to read half of it from subtitles, but pretty good.

New Band of Brothers type mini-series from Spielberg and Hanks
Apple TV apparently has the rights. Looks like it has been in the works (to what level I don't know) for about 6 years or so.

I'm excited for this (even though I was disappointed by The Pacific) and it's a bit of a coup for Apple to steal it away from HBO.

I saw this on my Netflix feed this weekend and was wondering whether it was worth watching. Am I correct in thinking it has the girl from Trainspotting and Boardwalk Empire in it?

@Nepia Yep. Kelly MacDonald, always looks miserable.

The best acting is actually from the Japanese though. Maybe that's because I was busy with the subtitles...

Have you seen the Pacific since it came out? I too was disappointed at the time but I think maybe that's because I was comparing it to BOB when it was a different story in that it didn't just follow the one company. I've just finished a podcast where they went through the book of one of the main soldiers on The Pacific, made me think maybe I should give the book a read and then give it another watch.

I did a fairly recent rewatch, the last couple of years at least, it's just really not that good. For the first few episodes I thought maybe I had miss-assessed it but by the time it got going it confirmed my earlier thoughts.

I rewatched it after reading Ambrose the younger's book The Pacific and Eugene Sledge's book.

Damn, that is a shame. Hopefully they can right the wrongs with the new series. The subject matter is too important to do a bad job especially with younger folks forgetting what these guys went through. It was Sledge's book that this podcast was going through, will definitely have to give it a read at least.
