Don't know how City lost that after being two nil up, but that last goal for Wolves was lovely.

Wolves play great football. We only just squeaked past them at their place last week, and they have barely lost there this season

Liverpool now unbeaten in the league for a year. Gap is 13 points with a game in hand.

As another Liverpool supporting mate said this morning "if they lose it from here, they may as well shut the club down" and he's right. No one connected to the club would ever recover mentally from that.

Even if City were to do what they did last year, and win 18 of their last 19, Liverpool would still have to lose 6 of their last 18.

      Surely...

fuck yes Man City! Smack Villa 6-1, then have a private party with a bunch of models flown in from Italy.

THAT is how you live as a ridiculously loaded sports star

What is the earliest a team has won the Premier League? Currently the mickey mousers can win it on the 4th of April if they keep winning(and the chasers keep winning)

I see they put Man U to the sword this morning.

I would like to see them lose one match please.

            @Hooroo

Yeah, I hope they drop a game too. Ideally arsenal somehow steal a win for maximum poetic value, although that's a long shot. I suspect it will depend on how they do in Europe. If they drop out early then all their energy will go on an unbeaten season, but I think Klopp would prioritise Europe over the unbeaten season, especially if they've already won it.

Gah!!! I can easily see them doing the treble.

@Hooroo earliest is with 5 games to spare Man City 2017-18, Man Utd 1907-08 and 2000-01 and Everton 1984-85.

To beat the record City have to win the title against Man City on 5th April - Tasty. Or earlier which is possible too.

Two shots on target from a quarter of the possession leads to a two nil win. Great stuff.

                        Liverpool still winning for fun.

Are you Liverpool fans finally resigned to winning the Premiership yet? Or are you still being a bit weak in the head over it all?

Yeah Firmino scored just after I posted. This Liverpool team is incredible in its ability to win games despite being outplayed.

Nah we're golden. Even if City win out we have an enormous buffer

Not so sure about that. Liverpool only has Man City and Chelsea left to play among teams in the current Top 8. They have a pretty soft run home from here.

So in this season of amazing feats, apparently Liverpool have become the thirteenth team to beat every other team in a single league season and achieved that earlier than any other team. The previous earliest by date record was held by Preston North End, back on Feb 9, 1889. LFC was founded in 1892.

We're now 19 points clear with a game in hand.

@antipodean no game in hand now, this morning was our catch up, everyone has played 24

If City completely reverse their form and win out, Liverpool need to win 8 of 14 to secure the title.

I do find the language used on the wendyball thread interesting. Lots of 'we', 'our', 'us' in reference to a team.

Not used at all in the rugby threads apart from the occasional use of 'we' when talking about the ABs.

                                        Big cultural difference.

I see it all the time in rugby match threads. "We got tucked by the ref" etc etc.
