that's an incredible comeback to being 10 down in the 4th and just having turned over the ball. They were being contained.

A few costly plays by the 9ers defence and the offense' inability to keep the ball costs them the SB. That Chiefs team are lethal, I'm happy for Andy Reid who seems like a really decent guy

We should’ve expected it given what they’ve done, but to do it in a Super Bowl with the added pressure.

Huge fan of Andy Reid and what he did at the Eagles even when there was personal turmoil in his life. Congrats to him and the Chiefs.

Wow, that was a great game. Delighted for Andy Reid (and Shady too, for that matter). But a damn good superbowl, well worth watching.

Watched (or tried to watch) on SkySportNow. Great service when it works - but the replay was a bit borked today. Wound up starting partway through the first quarter, so no major damage. 1080p though, and fast forwarding through ads is nice.

THis may not be the last ring for Mahomes. That fella has a cannon for an arm, and a bit of feel that a lot of players miss. Good fun.

I'm really happen for Andy Reid, and it was great to watch a Super Bowl not involving the Pats.

These guys knew who to support. 🙂

    Bugger.

    49ers blew it.

Couldn't score a point in the 4th quarter.

Just couldn't make the big plays when needed - close but no cigar

Shanahan was the main reason the 49ers were in the Super Bowl to begin with but he is also the main reason why they lost.

Shanahan is 0-46 scoreline in Super Bowls in 4th Quarter/Overtime. He's going to have to wear that - that's his rep.

Still - a far better 49ers season than ever could have predicted. Proud.

Congrats to the Chiefs and Mahomes (and Andy Reid and their long suffering fans). That's why you want the superstar QB - for moments like the 4th quarter.

The pundits said the 9ers went away from running the ball in the 4th, just as they did when Shanahan was OC of the Falcons, and Jimmy G failed to deliver. I'm not sure that is entirely fair, KC stepped up big time. But SF did try to throw the ball more than previous games, but that isn't saying much. I just think they got outplayed in the end

    So those who like stats:

Patrick Mahomes is 5-0 when trailing by double-digits.

That’s the best single-season record by a QB in NFL history.

Jalen Rose was talking football on the J&J show today. Jimmy G's contract allows them to part ways with him in April. As close as they were, Jimmy had some chances to make plays to win the game and came up just short. He's earning a lot of money, I wonder if the 9ers will consider getting another QB? Jalen reckons Cam Newton could be a cheaper upgrade. Interesting offseason in Santa Clara.....

The only reason they should do it is if they can get someone for cheaper, and not have to keep paying JG. Front offices are always trying to find the next "elite" QB, and they are fucking unicorns. I feel like Brady has distorted the league, and has led to organisations thinking you can disguise all sorts of shit, and win half a dozen rings, as long as you have a GOAT QB.

QB is important, but more important is to not overpay him so you have to offload weapons everywhere else. The Chiefs will face this decision with Mahomes' next contract. If they throw all the money at him, it may actually cost the team.

When Dak Prescott is supposedly asking for 40m per year, you hate to think what Mahomes' number will be.

A lot of the Pats success comes from Brady's willingness to take below value deals, and Belicheck's ability to get JAGs to perform.

Yep, but those bits get overlooked in the desire for the next great QB.

So much noise around Brady not being at the Patriots. Lots and lots of chat around the Raiders. But also the Titans, and surprisingly, the Niners
