    That's a pretty incredible win given we're missing all of our best players. We're a seriously good ODI side and deserve to be world champs right now.

    Also, Ross is absolutely phenomenal in the longer formats. What a player.

    Apart from Ross obviously. Solid argument for best ODI #4 ever - Batting stats for all #4s

    That's pretty impressive by Rossco! The only person you'd probably slide ahead of him based on those stats is ABdV - with a slightly higher average and a better strike rate.

    Taking other things into account, Sir Viv still takes precedence because:

    Cricket World Cups
    Viv 2
    Rossco 0

    #= :fishing_pole: NQ 🙂

      @Chris-B 1,800 more runs than AB is not insignificant though!

        Just watched highlights. Seriously great batting from Taylor and Latham. That Nicholls LBW though...WTF. Missing the stumps by miles. How the umpire gave that out is a complete mystery. Also CdG will be on dishes after making a mess of that catch and poor running between wickets.

          @Mokey comms thought he must have given it out caught behind. Super weird, and weirder still because the appeal was so half-arsed

            You can thank me for that win. Was starting to not, Latham had 2 from 11 and you could tell wickets were about to start falling - better to sleep than to see the inevitable slide towards defeat.

            Seriously good chase that one. Never let the rate required get out of hand which isn't easy chasing nearly 7 an over.

            Waitangi Day quiz question (easy)

            The top 3 ODI scores from 7 in the batting order were all made in New Zealand in the last 5 seasons. Name the batsmen.

              @KiwiPie No-one else guessing, so an initial offering of Anderson, Ronchi and Dhoni.

              0/3!! 🙂

                  @KiwiPie Ronchi, Neesham, CdG?

                  Edit: I misread it to be the scores were made by NZers, but after reading again I see the scores were scored in NZ.

                  So I’ll change mine to

                  Ronchi, Stonis and the Sri Lankan guy who tore us apart a season or two ago... is it Perera??? Think his brother was also in the team?

                    Ronchi was presumably his 170 against Sri Lanka. One of the most insane innings you'll ever see in terms of swinging a match.

                    I'd guess that the second place is a Sri Lankan, but I can't remember his name. He plundered about 300 runs in a 5 match series, including a fantastic century. Him and Neesham traded high tempo innings that entire series. His name might have been Chandimal or Kamara?

                              Sadly, these days I cannot tell if this is satire or real.

                              Is it real? Competing on Wokeness?

                                  This is correct - Ronchi, Stoinis and Perera - the only 3 to get to 140 batting at 7 in an ODI.

                                    @KiwiPie Ronchi, Neesham, CdG?

                                    This is correct - Ronchi, Stoinis and Perera - the only 3 to get to 140 batting at 7 in an ODI.

                                    I'd forgotten about the Stoinis innings. Interesting, only Ronchi's was pat of a winning effort. Ronchi was also the only one to do it in the first innings too.

                                      0/3!! 🙂

                                      1/3. Ronchi is correct.

                                      Yeah - I was thinking Corey probably batted higher than 7 in his Q'town effort. He batted at 5 and it was 2014 anyway.

                                        I had too and I was at the game - was stressful as fuck. Massive relief when we finally got a run out to end it, felt a bit sorry for him after that as he was going to hit them home in one of the most remarkable ODI innings of all time.

                                          I wasn't at the game but was watching at home. I remember going from relaxed (as we had them on the ropes) and enjoying what seemed like a bit of a cameo in an otherwise easy victory to more and more stressed as he just kept on clearing the rope. I went nuts when we finally got the last wicket.
