Facebook - Time To Die?

<p>I facebook up a storm and probably annoy a lot but they can just chop me.</p>

<p>I like it for ideas at times but hate motivational stuff. That's just rubbish.</p>

<p>I like seeing what people have for dinner too or where they are dining out as it gives me ideas to cook and places to avoid or go to.</p>

<p>I'm pretty much everything you whiners dislike about facebook apart from motivating stuff!</p> -

<p>I use FB, but I have a rule that I only have 50 friends, I have been at that limit for awhile. If I add someone I have to remove someone else. </p>

Damn that is exclusive, are said friends aware of this rule? Does it make them work harder to stay on the list? Everytime I try to create solid rules for what gets someone ignored or unfriended i end up having to make exceptions for close family or friends going through super tough times so I've just given up trying to control the mayhem -
<p>You are not meant to like Facebook, you are meant to need it. You guys may all hate it but for a lot of people it is difficult to live life without it. A lot of people organise events and only invite people on FB. It also has free messaging. They don't want you to like it; they just want your personal information which most of you probably give to them by liking certain pages.</p>

Social media in general annoys me. It's amazing I have stuck with reading the Fern for so long. Been 'here' since 2003 so perhaps the ratio of retards in this place is lower than the general population? -
<p>I use FB. In the previous year I conducted an experiment to see what effect "checking in" to various businesses and locations had on my experience/ news feed. From what I can tell bugger all. Perhaps that's because I have tampermonkey and adblock installed...</p>

<p>I find it useful as my family and friends are geographically dispersed and it's an easy way to opt in in when keeping in touch.</p>

<p>I'm picky about what I share, tend to ignore anything political given how many retards are on social media and have a number of acquaintances ignored given the never ending drama in their lives, shithouse motivational memes, pseudoscience babble, calls for attention, sharing american memes as if it has some fucking relevance, "I know many people won't share this but"... Actually come to think of it, I'm surprised I still use it.</p> -
