adidas has today unveiled the alternate jerseys for all five New Zealand Investec Super Rugby sides for the highly anticipated 2020 season.
From material to design, the jerseys have been crafted to reflect and honour the natural environments of each team.

All 5 jerseys are part of the new adidas PRIMEBLUE range – made with Parley Ocean Plastic, which is recycled plastic waste intercepted from beaches and coastal communities before it reaches the oceans.

As part of its ongoing mission to end plastic waste, adidas has committed to shift entirely to recycled polyester by 2024.

To inspire rugby fans to join the movement, the designs of each teams alternate jersey features aquatic-style patterns and nods to the teams’ local environments:

More talk about Josh Ioane being a 15 or 12 for most of the year

Probably the best thing for the Highlanders. Not sure it's in Ioane's best interest though

@Duluth if the Canes were smart they would go after him if he isn't guaranteed the 10 jersey at the Highlanders.

Any news about the "foreigners", Kapeli and Kuridrani ? They could be welcome additions to the team after the poor performance vs the Sharks.

It looks like several Highlanders have recovered from their injuries. This is the team currently playing Crusaders Development XV in Christchurch:

Posted by Highlanders on instagram; I assume it's the FT score.

That’s a bullshit article. The title suggests that he just refused to give him an apology to make him look even worse. Then the article says the he was very remorseful and did everything he could to apologise but the victim didn’t want it. He made one (bad) mistake and has done everything right since, the media can fuck off trying to make it worse and ruin the guys career.

I've been predicting that NZ rugby will move back to genuine 12's. I'm happy to see a coach like Brown agrees

However I'm not sure these are the right players:

                      • Is Hunt good enough to start at SR level?
                        Probably not

                      • Is Ioane's midfields defence good enough?
                        Not yet

@Duluth I can't see this ever happening. Should stay at 10 where he belongs, more chance of getting a chance there than in the midfield for the All Blacks, as is the wealth of depth in that area.

@Duluth A 6-9-month recovery period means that he'll also miss most or all of the Mitre 10 Cup.

Also from that article: the Highlanders' touring squad to SA:

Backs: Aaron Smith, Kayne Hammington, Mitch Hunt, Josh Ioane, Teihorangi Walden, Ngane Punivai, Jona Nareki, Michael Collins, Tima Fainga'anuku, Scott Gregory, Josh McKay.

Forwards: Ayden Johnstone, Liam Coltman, Ash Dixon, Nathan Vella, Jeff Thwaites, Siate Tokolahi, Daniel Lienert-Brown, Manaaki Selby-Rickit, Jack Whetton, Will Tucker*, Slade McDowall*, Dillon Hunt, Shannon Frizell, Marino Mikaele Tu'u, Jesse Parete, Teariki Ben-Nicholas.

The Highlanders are certainly feeling the injury pinch, with locks Josh Dickson and Pari Pari Parkinson both ruled out for the tour to South Africa and Argentina, as well as influential midfielder Rob Thompson.

Will Tucker and Slade McDowall have been called into the squad as injury replacements at lock and loose forward, respectively.

Someone must have worked wonders to get Selby-Rickit a visa to get into South Africa given his criminal record. Could be that standards imposed by South Africa are somewhat lesser than those elsewhere.

                                    Is Kapeli injured?

I assume the conviction of causing injury with reckless disregard is low enough to allow him to travel. @Godder may know more about the standard?

@Nepia The visa issue clearly negates defence laywers arguing conviction would impact too heavily on the defendants professional sporting career should a conviction be entered against the defendant.

@Nepia I may be wrong, but IIRC, Australia only refuses people a visa in case of conviction if a prison sentence has been imposed. Maybe it's the same in SA/Arg?
