Tom Cruise was pretty funny. Also Catherine Zeta Jones dressed up in a leather at the end .

I actually sat through love actually , the guy from walking deads part was pretty creepy especially considering it was his best friends mrs, Alan RIckmans bit was sad not funny and the bit with Hugh Grant was shit for two reasons- it had Huhh Grant in it and had a sanctimonious anti American tirade .

Holy shit! The wife watches that film at least twice every Christmas and it never registered that that ridiculous nancy boy is zombie killer Rick.

Generally romcoms make me sick but Notting Hill is pretty damn good.

Funniest character in that flick is the washed up rock star. Liam Neeson was obviously in an awkward post Schindler pre ass kicking action star phase in his career.....

It may sound ironic for someone as into Star Wars as I am but due to the whole implausibility of everything I find Superhero movies fucken boring. The only two I do like are Iron Man and Batman ( obviously I dig flawed billionaire playboys who moonlight as Vigilantes ) but the likes of the Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Superman, Spider-Man and all of the others simply bore me to fucken tears. I really enjoyed the first Iron Man ( the intro with RDJ rocking out to ACDC was such a great set up ) and Christian Bale was terrific as Batman ( Ben Affleck taking over will ensure I don't watch anymore however ) but I sat through the whole Avengers movies somehow and actually fell asleep when that big airship in the sky was being attacked.

I like the first one, with Michael Keaton. I watched it the other day, it's a great comic book movie.

Not even the Dark Knight? That usually is the most accessible one.

Nope, just found them all quite boring, usually just take themselves way to seriously.

Dark Knight was my fave of the Batman movies, and Batman is my fave super hero/vigilante (which is why I am persevering with Gotham)

Never been a fan of Superman, so will be interested to see how the Batman vs Superman movie turns out.

Also caught this on I am Legend last week...expect it is old news though

I actually much prefer those Justice League cartoons my kids sometimes watch. Some of them are really good. None of those Avengers films do anything for me. Guardians of the Galaxy is the obvious exception. Awesome film.

Outside of Heath Ledger's performance I don't rate the Dark Knight really highly, and I thought the next Dark Knight was actually bad. I enjoyed Batman Begins though.

As for Marvel, I like Captain Avenger and the combined Avengers movies but all the other standalones are only ok. I'm looking forward to Civil War.

So much stuff on these days, including TV to go with the movies - Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, Daredivel, Jessica Jones for Marvel and Arrow, Flash and Supergirl for DC.

And that's before getting into X Men, Fantastic Four and Spiderman.

Heath Ledger died so automatically his overrated and irritating performance was elevated to 'legendary'.

Tom Hardy as Bane was about a million times better....

Tom Hardy is an awesome actor, but his Bane made that Batman movie almost unwatchable.

Ledger was great in that role, dead or not.

Give me superhero movies up a storm. Only one I didn't love but still liked was the bane batman one. Dark Knight was excellent and I'll be doing a boys date for superman/batman coming up.

First Avengers movie I loved too.

Dark Knight is awesome, the Nolan batman trilogy is an awesome watch, one day when the kids are out, and I've got my cinema room sorted, I'll be putting that trilogy on. The fact I work in the building where some of it was filmed (where Freeman checks is phone in is the lobby in my building) is just a co-incidence, I swear.

I've mentioned it before, but I feel the need to mention it again. Guardians of the Galaxy blows goats in a big way. Worst movie I've watched in years.

I was expecting that out of Guardians of the Galaxy but was pleasantly surprised.

Agreed. I never liked the previous Batman movies as they were all far too camp for my liking. It was fantastic to see someone take an artistic direction away from the TV show and make it much darker. But then I also wanted the Dark Side to prevail in Star Wars, I guess some men do want to see the world burn...

Watched the Hateful Eight in 70mm last night.

I'm a fan of Tarantino so I was predisposed to liking it, but I thought it was great. Much better than The Revenant (I watched them a week apart).

Was a bit weird having an intermission though. Kind of took me out of the film a bit.

Walter Goggins from the Shield and Justified was great and it was a film that weirdly didn't have a real lead as the focus point of the story kept moving.

Obviously as it's Tarantino there's a lot of gratuitous violence and use of the N word.

Watched American Sniper. Really enjoyed it, but then I think I've liked most of Clint Eastwood's flicks, he tells a great visual story.

Re-watched Casino Royale (where Daniel Craig made Bond a hardarse again instead of a playboy caricature) and original Point Break. On principle, I won't watch the remake.
