They are showcasing this company on Sunday right now. Harnessing bacteria that can convert carbon emissions into ethanol based biofuel. Or plastic. And all the end products can truly be recycled by feeding them back to the bacteria. The company has projects all over the world including China and India. Amazing

Interesting stuff. As someone employed in the financing of this sort of thing, the key section is here:
"People look at us and say we're an overnight success. But we are an overnight success that took 13 years. And I still wouldn't describe us as successful."
"We are very fortunate — very fortunate — to have very patient investors. "
It's so hard to make this stuff work, especially at scale.

@voodoo he's had some influential backers and now they are getting to a commercial stage. If they keep this up and if they have no significant competitors, a company started in New Zealand could be more important than Tesla. Imagine, a process that can use emissions and industrial waste and create fuel. That can use plastic waste and the byproduct is new plastic. Maybe consume car emissions and make ethanol biofuel. It's the stuff of movies

Mate, I wish them all the best , but man it is hard to not be cynical about their chances.

I've split the Tommy Robinson stuff into a new thread
Can we keep the Politics out of 'Off Topic' please? A reasonable number of TSFers have the Politics forum on ignore.. it makes their decision useless if we don't

@taniwharugby I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they are still there but their genetic diversity would only be slightly better than the average Cantabrian .
Ken Tustin comes across as a top bloke , his books are really entertaining. He tracked down a guy that shot a moose in the 1970s but got it into his head they were protected and clammed up when the papers picked up the story.
