That play by Vontaze Burfict has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen in sport. So needless, so costly. What a fucking idiot.

Another example of a franchise cloaked in failure. I knew they would fark it up with less than a minute to play.

Meanwhile, Alex Smith is on a redemption drive of his own in leading the KCC to a big win over Texas. The AFC is wide open this season

And it just gets weirder, with Minnesota missing a field goal from 30 yards which would have clinched the game against Seattle.

Instead the Seahawks go through to face Carolina.

Seattle-Carolina will be a great game to watch. I see the winner of this game going to the Super Bowl.

Exciting game with the tide just too good in the end. Clemson can hold their heads high though

I checked into hotel and went to club lounge looking for Oz/India cricket and there were two Americans watching. I watched last 1/4. 'Twas good. I enjoyed it.

Got the best part of the cricket once it finished too.

Official - The Rams are moving back to LA. They are moving immediately and eventually will move into a super-stadium in Inglewood.

The Chargers have a one year option to decide if they want to move to LA and then if Chargers turn it down to remain in San Diego, The Raiders will have a one year option to move to LA. The Raiders and Chargers will both receive $100 million from the NFL if they remain in their home markets.

Sucks for those St Louis fans who got to watch the "greatest show on turf" but LA is the home of the Rams. Can see Raiders heading back to LA and San Diego getting a new stadium.

St Louis is a baseball city but they love their sports. The Rams haven't been relevant since Warner was QB. Neither have the Raiders in a long time either!

BTW, the Southern Bowl has been cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. I'm not surprised as I wasn't interested once I knew the teams would include players not good enough to be on a NFL roster.

Of more interest will be the 'Sydney Cup' - the opening college week game between Pac-12 rivals Cal and Hawaii at Homebush in August.

I was keen to go but hadn't got around to buying tickets.

I'd pay to see fringe players in NZ as a novelty. Pity that this fell over.

Read that on stuff - which seems to be currently moderated by gay men in their 30s and 21 year old blondes named Shavaugh (like OMG totes amazeballs) - and it doesn't surprise me as well. Would like to see University of Hawaii face University of Arizona at Eden Park if that scheduling was possible because of the large polynesian numbers on both rosters, but they tried that with the proposed Haka Bowl and it didn't get enough support either.

The 49ers have a new head coach - Chip Kelly. He won't have the same overall control as in Philly.

That Eagles train wreck has been fascinating. YOU just never knew if he was a mad genius who would succeed, or (as it turned out), drive the organisation into the toilet.

Hopefully he learns (like Hanson did) and tones down some parts of this personality to get the best out of elite athletes. NFL players are not college kids who can be controlled as tightly.

Yeah I can see why Baalke made this call of Chip Kelly for the 49ers - this is his third and almost certainly last head-coach hire as General Manager - so he swung for the fences and went with the highest risk/highest reward option. Fair enough.

Will be interesting what happens to Kaepernick - rumour is that Kelly has been on trading for him in the past and would have gone after him if he had got a head coaching gig anywhere else. It makes sense that they would at least give the partnership a year to see if he can get it to work with Kap.

Hopefully Chip's offense and Kap's skill set turn into something special, Baalke needs to restock because the cupboard is bare
