Aus choked hard at the finish.

    Dramatic final.

NZ did not play well. The ref dominated that game.

Thank you to Canada for beating South Africa in the bronze final. That's great for the table:

Looking at the knees of most players: are they playing on artificial turf?

Yes. It's the same venue the Maori played Canada a few years back.

Only just realized that the Singapore and HK rounds are still scheduled, albeit not until October

@Crucial Not yet. I don't know whether points earned during the postponed legs of the Series still count for this Series, or not, but even with two legs to go, South Africa can still catch us, if we have two nightmare tournaments.

Would be nice to get ENS back to the Chiefs for later rounds if possible. He looked very good this tournament and still has some decent size

Yeah, I did mean to say barring shocking results

From what I can tell though the Asian legs still count

@Crucial Yeah, I think so, too, for the Series standings. They can't have any influence on the Olympic seedings, obviously.

Awesome effort NZ Sevens. Caleb Clarke really came 'of age' inthis tournament! Knewstubb also added a lot.

Can't wait to watch the replay, I was sure we'd get knocked out by Fiji in the quarters!

    17-5 the Good Guys.

Ravouvou nails the win on the bell with NZ down to 6. (Could have kicked it out but deep kick and chase wasn't a bad option.)

I figured Joe had never seen "the try from the end of the world". Kicking it out would have been the safer option and saved my heart a couple of beats.

Can't complain about any of the cards either.

Just saw the highlights of the final. Penalty/yellow against Dickson was very harsh - should have gone the other way in my view.

@KiwiPie nah don't think it was harsh, debatable he ever released and didn't exactly look to be holding his own weight. That ref was always happy to make a rash decision so was no surprise.

I thought it was a fairly consistent decision with the rest of the game. You could argue the Miller YC was harsh as well, but when you're 10m out from your own line I don't mind the benefit of the doubt going against you.
