Narcos: Mexico
Finished the latest season, was pretty good.
What bits I have checked online, seems to be reasonably close to the truth.
Looks nicely set up for another season, which I guess promises to be as brutal if not more than previously.

With Felix's federation no longer, all the Cartels vying for thier place atop the tree...
Although how the federation came apart appears slightly different in reality vs how it was portrayed in that it was Felix who initiated it after his arrest as opposed to the Plazas all pulling out, although this appears to be from Felix's memoirs, so who knows?
Also a bit surprising that he died in prison of ill-health given that he supposedly tipped off the US officials of 20 tons (>$7 billion) in cocaine in California that belonged to the Colombians in order to give him the power to take control back from them.

Its a hell of a show, amazing that for the most part reality was so extreme they didnt need to hollywoodise it.

This thread is fast becoming the most important one on the fern
Yep. I've got a long list of shows I want to watch so might have more time now with less sport.
I started S5 of Better Call Saul by bingeing Ep1-4. Dropping an episode per week means I will watch some other shows in between.
Westworld tomorrow night.

Duckman is 26 years old this year, and I have started watching the complete series again. It is amazing that back in the mid 90's something like this was commissioned and broadcast (on pay tv), and that it lasted 4 seasons.
This is the role that Jason Alexander was meant for, starting this mid Seinfeld run. So angry and deviant.
*edit, shit, posted to the wrong thread. Could a mod please move this to the TV Series thread

Finished Hunters (Amazon)
Was pretty good, seemed a bit of a mish-mash of styles, bit of Tarantino bit of others...
Slow burn for most of it, thought eps 9 & 10 were very good, the characters of Lonny, Travis & Harriet were very good...Jonah was annoying.

Has anyone seen The Wire?
Just jokes I know who has and who hasn't..anyway I just finished it for the 4th time and daaaaaaaamn it is still awesome. Made my Mrs watch it, no phones allowed and in the past I said it takes 4 episodes to get into it..nah thats not enough, its at least 8. She didn't have a clue what was going on for a while, couldn't even understand the dialogue, on the one had you got ghetto street slang and on the other you have cop talk. By the end of the first season she finally clicked and loved it, even shed a few tears in parts.
So yeah, if you're quarantined and have some time on your hands there is 5 seasons of awesomeness awaiting.

I've got a box set of The Shield to watch sometime.
Assuming you haven't watched it already, as an FYI the first series is quite procedural like (IIRC) but by season 2 it just ramps up to season/show long narrative arcs.

@Nepia Thanks for the info. I've never watched it before but I don't mind procedurals as I was a big fan of Law & Order.
Back in the day I could watch procedurals but since we've had peak tv I can't do it. Josh Whedon and Shawn Ryan (showrunner of The Shield) were a wee bit ahead of their time in and often had to do first seasons of procedurals to get their show on the air, before going full steam ahead with their narrative shows.

@Rembrandt by the same token I'm sitting down to watch Justified again this weekend, this time with Bonesetta. No phones is a great idea!
Thanks for the reminder on this. It was a show I kept reading good things about but the combination of platform and other shows meant I fell behind and couldn’t be bothered binging to catch up.
Found all the series on amazon yesterday and hooked fast.
My only problem is that I was a big fan of Santa Clarita Diet and keep seeing similarities in the character (especially that shit eating grin).
Top show though, glad I read your post. -
@Rembrandt i have never seen the Wire
-
@mariner4life you've got your isolation plan then.
-
pffft haha yeah right.
I have children. I won't get near the TV until 8.30pm

I tried 4 or 5 eps of The Wire, wasn't for me
Had a look at Black Monday with Don Cheadle, only watched 1 so far but seems like it might be kinda Wolf of Wall Street without Margot.
