    @Chris All hypothetical. 🙂

OK, a blast from the past - North Island vs South Island.

The qualifier is which school you went to (some went to more than one school), not where you were born or the province you now play for. All players fit and available for selection

    NORTH ISLAND
    1 Tu'ungafasi
    2 Taylor
    3 Laulala
    4 S Barrett
    5 Whitelock
    6 Jacobson
    7 Cane
    8 Savea
    9 Smith
    10 B Barrett
    11 Ioane
    12 Laumape
    13 Goodhue
    14 Reece
    15 J Barrett

    16 Coles
    17 Tu'inukuafe
    18 Ta'avao
    19 Tuipulotu
    20 Papalii
    21 Perenara
    22 Black
    23 Bridge

    SOUTH ISLAND
    1 Moody
    2 Dixon
    3 Moli
    4 Dunshea
    5 Retallick
    6 Grace
    7 Christie
    8 Blackadder
    9 Drummond
    10 Mo'unga
    11 Alaimalo
    12 Havili
    13 A Lienert-Brown
    14 Jordan
    15 McKenzie

    16 McAlister
    17 D Lienert-Brown
    18 Tokolahi
    19 Romano
    20 Harmon
    21 Grooby? @Chris-B
    22 Nankivell
    23 L Fainga'anuku

There may be SI eligible players I have overlooked without checking all info.

For the NI team I would have G Evans instead of Papalii & Cruden instead of Black on the bench. Based on form I would have Tyrel Lomax in there aswell.

@Canes4life I thought about Lomax and it looks like he may have spent time at school in Welly. He could replace Ta'avao if eligible.

@Stargazer said in A full strength NPC?:

@Nepia In that case, I'd have to drop Mason Emerson, who would lose his spot on the bench to Makene (because we need a midfielder on the bench - Fomai in this scenario - and Makene is better and more versatile than Emerson).

I have no issue with that Emerson hasn't ever lived to the hype for me and the year before last Buckley looked way better.

I wonder if Renton would return to the Bay given the amount of loosies like Prinseep 😂 in the Canterbury region?

His last year? Lomax played all of his age-group rugby for Aust.

I think his early college days before moving to Aus. Not 100% sure though, Laban went on about it in one of his usual player history yarns.

I'd put Cruden at 10 and BB at 15.

I'd be shocked if that wasn't the case. Much larger player pool to pick from in the NI.

I expect Renton to return to the Magpies once he's finished his studies. So, not yet this year.

The overall record in the North-South games were:
    NI won 50
    SI won 26
draws 3 (the last in 1931)

@Bovidae Lentjes ahead of Christie. Possibly also Harmon ahead of Christie. Shirley is a fucken girls' name. And Sanders ahead of Blackadder.

@KiwiMurph he's on the up, but Lentjes' body of work is far superior over a much longer period. He was close to making an AB squad a few years back but somehow missed out to Dillon Hunt FFS. And he's a Bedean.

Just had this info passed on to me
    Thoughts..?

NZ Rugby looking at modelling that would see Heartland & Mitre 10 abandoned but ALL club grades (kids through to Presidents) re-started mid / late Sept through to early Dec. Heartland unions have agreed in principle but much debate from Mitre 10 unions. Selected club games to be televised LIVE. ABs to play for clubs before northern hemisphere tour. Early days but there could still be a club season. All contingencies being considered by NZ Rugby.

@Steven-Harris bad idea imo, having our top players sprinkled about rather than moderately concentrated for better competition and practise as they would be with Mitre 10. Big step from club to international, slightly less from a super rugby and Abs player laden M10

I wonder if Black and Perofeta would like to stay in the Auckland area. Harbour might have some openings ...
