    John Wick 3

I’m ok with escapism but this is so hilariously overplayed I can only watch one set piece at a time. The one with the horses was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

    So .... it was awesome?

Edit: Not as good as the first one (but little is). Three and a half bullets out of five pieces of brutality

@Crucial yeah while it was still awesome, it definitely felt overboard to me too. Just went too far into the surreal.

Watch the segments on the police training video "Surviving Edged Weapons", very funny.

The Rookie (my personal favorite) Remember the Titans, Glory Road, Invincible, Rocky.

    It's been pretty sweet

In recent days I have used Sky's free movie channel offer to watch a couple of MCU movies that I never saw on release.

Spider-Man - Far From Home: decent enough but a step down on Homecoming.
Dark Phoenix: I just finished watching. Definitely a low tier Marvel movie but not quite the lemon I was expecting. No reason to watch again.

@Bovidae Yeah, this lockdown is allowing us all to watch or re-watch stuff we might not get around to. I re-watched the original Pink Panther movie yesterday. Just fantastic. Great cast, great dialogue, great settings and Peter Sellers creating one of the great cinematic characters. Well worth the time spent.

Fond memories of watching that as a kid with my father. To this day we still make "do you have a licence for the dog" jokes.

@antipodean Yeah the "Does your dog bite?" "Non". Cue Clouseau getting bitten. "It is not my dog". T'was a family favourite for years. Then once, when visiting a canal side pub, my friend's son approached a couple with a dog and bent to stroke the dog asking the guy if his dog bites. "It's not my dog" was the answer. Gales of laughter from all of us and looks of bewilderment from the random couple.

    Peppermint

Jennifer Garner goes Terminator on a drug cartel that killed her husband and little girl. Entertaining enough once the bullets started flying.

Dunno. I live in Devon mate. We can only count up to 12 on our hands, not 13 like Christchurch.

    Flight.

This movie annoyed me, mainly because it wasn't sure which movie it wanted to be. The first half hour was awesome, a pilot flies into bad weather and then his whole system craps out and he has to crash land in a field. The sequence was so good, really heart pounding. I thought it was going to be a tale of espionage or cover ups and plucky everyman pilot who drinks too much was going to take on the suits and win. But then the rest of the movie was just him getting drunk and getting high and there was one bit where his dealer comes in with a whole duffel bag of drugs to balance him out after he got drunk all night before his deposition. it was quite funny, but again tonally jarring.

5 stars to the first half hour, 2 stars for the rest which was pretty boring.
