You've started with the worst 3 films of the series. I don't think I'd be a warsies now if I'd watched those 3 first.

@Nepia I thought watching episode 1 would make mores sense seeing as it's very likely I won't make it through the whole series.

Ep 4 is the original, and should always be watched first. 1-3 are prequels. -

The prequels (1,2,3) were the weakest

Nope, you're watching it out of order. That's why they're called prequel - events from before the existing work, but you need to see the existing work first.
Even if Ep 2 annoys you so much you want to run in traffic I still reckon you should watch Ep 4.
