Zero Dark Thirty.
Disgusted at myself that it took me this long to watch it. Superb. Well crafted, engrossing story and pretty well real (as far as Hollywood goes). Well worth a watch. Confronting, but in a good way I think.
Four and a half UBL out of Five CIA agents.
One of my very favourites
After the whole John Wick fiasco, I shall approach this movie with serious scepticism.
You're safe with that one mate, gripping film

Have you watched Point Break from the same director? Outstanding.
I had to double take as I didn't think that would ever be a serious question...
Well... except for Canefan
Oh I didn't know she directed it, but come on....Point Break...

Will watch!
Weird seeing Keanu Reeves in that type of role again.
It'll be nostalgic. But I have my doubts....

Absolutely. A part of me says that he wouldn't have been on board unless it stood test of time

Keanu? Probably. The other guy? Just happy to pull another Hollywood paycheck

Yes,

That should put pay to the "Keanu doesn't age" argument.
-
@antipodean The first thing I noticed too. Keanu looked older than he did in John Wick 3. Maybe it's because we have been used to the beard.

Probably accentuated by the fact they have styled him to look like the teenage Ted (or Bill)

think it was @Bones on another thread that recommended Three Identical Strangers...WTF.
Starts off like such a cool story, but things start going down hill as you learn more.

Is this on Netflix, I've definitely noted this somewhere as one to watch...
Also on the grim "should I watch or should I not" theme..
The two Corey's documentary, think I saw a thumbnail for it on prime maybe can't remember... Anyone seen it? -
@R-L I think it is meant to be, but doesnt show up on the NZ Netflix version...

finally sat in front of The Highwaymen last night
You know what? I thought it was great. I really like Kevin Costner. And Woody Harrelson as well. It felt like a Western with cars for the majority of it. It's not fast paced by any stretch of the imagination, but that actually just helps to build tension. The "I'm too old for this shit" isn't over done, and in fact adds poignant moments.
It's beautifully shot. The sets and costumes are on point. And there were some clever decisions. Leaving Bonny & Clyde as the point of the story, but relegated to faceless killers was fucking clever. Dehumanised them as they deserved. The scene with Hamer and Henry Barrow is fucking amazing.
