I watched the Netflix doco on ZZ Top (That Little Ol' Band from Texas) recently and really enjoyed it. It was good to know more about the origins of the band. Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen have released some great music documentaries.
Saw that over lockdown and loved it. Being together unchanged as a band for FIFTY ONE years is fucken extraordinary

Zooropa was great, it's only 27yrs old
Fair call. The title track was a banger. I'll give you that. I also remember learning some tunes from their previous album ( complete with wah wah peddle borrowed from a dude who lived down the road ) in a gratuitous attempt to impress some chicks from Wellington Girls. It worked.
But U2 are still a bunch of fluffybunnies.
No doubt they're classic woke hypocritical cnts.
But they have an amazing catalogue

Sky Arts here had a concert of theirs in Berlin from around 2018 I think. Between every song Bono went on for around 2-3 mins on all things left. Anti Trump, poverty, needs of Africa, more anti Trump, Middle East etc.
Twas nuts. Don’t think I would go see them now. Although would have loved the recent Joshua Tree tour. That and Rattle and Hum their finest hours.

I would argue though that at least U2 have made one “classic” album that would go down on most critics top 100 all time. Not so sure about ZZ Top.
Dislike Bono all you like but Joshua Tree is a pretty special recording. -

I’m not saying he’s shit, just over rated.
Having said that, I can’t hit the hay til he’s played Heroes.
He does a surprisingly good (different) version of “Lets Dance”.
The backing band he has is sublime as well.
This is the first time that the whole gig has been broadcast. When it happened the Beeb didn’t have full rights to broadcast everything and Bowie only agreed to them showing the first 5 songs. He wanted the show to be special to those that were present.
The organisers were initially worried that he would do an eclectic set but he basically did his last true “greatest hits” performance for posterity. -

You are entitled to enjoy whatever you like but I will say that you seem to be making judgement on some strange criteria.
I will concede that Adele has a great voice but she is no 'artist'. Doesn't write or arrange her music, has songs written for her and produced. She adds the vocals and performs them.
Bowie, formed concepts, wrote and arranged songs, co produced them in collaboration with producers that he encouraged their unique styles. Not only had hit songs but hit albums that have lasted decades and wasn't afraid to change the game up.
I don't get your 'over-rated' assessment (especially in comparison to Adele)
