    Bro...

Yep. I don't need a bra (yet) but really sounds uncomfortable.

I just figured that was even worse than getting a horn on for animé.

#1 - I was given the choice of basing myself in Auckland or Wellington. I chose Wellington, but there might be enough time for me to change that. Can anybody convince me for/against either?

I'll have a pop at this.

Really depends on what you want. No bad choice.

    Wellington:
    Weather sucks
    Everything else is amazing
Small city, but a distinct downtown area
Super wealthy due to government money ... but full of government and head office folk
Amazing craft beer selection and a walkable downtown area.
Did I mention the weather sucks?

    Auckland:
    Climate miles better than Welly
Great beaches, fit people in togs
Big (for NZ). The options to eat out and party are nek level compared to everywhere else in NZ
... but still getting its act togeter in some ways. In a year downtown will be amazing with the work being done on Quay St and CRL ... but at the moment it is a construction site
Traffic is diabolical. Like, seriously diabolical, and
House prices are insane. Worse than Wellington insane.
Craft beer scene greatly improved, but not nearly as compact or dense as Welly
Multiple pro sports teams - Blues, Auckland/NH/Counties, Breakers, Tuatara,
All Blacks come to Auckland twice a year, regular as clockwork

So really, choose if you want to hang out with hipsters in wet, windy weather but with compact walkable city centres and craft beer, or live in Auckland

@nzzp s'funny, whenever I've been back in the last half a dozen years, the weather in Aucks has been meh and the weather in Welly has been brill. I guess Aucklanders have to think they're getting something out of living there...

@Bones you're right, we make it up.

also, I'll just leave this here. around 200 days a year of gale force winds in Kelburn.

Days with wind gusts greater than gale force at Kelburn, Wellington, New Zealand - Figure.NZ

Days with wind gusts greater than gale force at Kelburn, Wellington, New Zealand - Figure.NZ

1967–2012, number of days per year

@nzzp holy schmokes, I can just imagine the surprise at finding a breeze at the top of an exposed hill. That would never do.

You should stop hanging out at the top of Kelburn hill, there's nothing there.

Maybe I'm getting confused. There is Kelburn that is the tip of a hill, but is there also a "Kelburn Hill" which is higher?

I've lived at Weir House (top of the cable car), Upland Rd (past the uni, not as far as the shops), and 2 other local digs I can't remember the address of. One past the shops then into the dark, mould gully, the other right next to uni

@voodoo I'm talking shit. I'm sure there must be a "top of the hill" in Kelburn though, but no idea where the WS is.

Classic though, I lived on the corner of Upland and St Michaels.
