after how S1 of Hannah went, I was reluctant to start S2, but did, and TBH, I quite liked it.

Less of the teen love story line (I know the main characters are teen girls) and a bit more of the expected action.

1 and a bit episodes into Prodigal Son and it's quite fun.

    Think SOTL meets NCIS.

bet Ricky Gervais is gutted he didnt get a nod for Afterlife....

@MiketheSnow mentioned Brave New World, I had this on my list to have a look at....interesting first epsiode!

    Lotsa eye candy, some boobs.

Also watched a few eps of Hightown, plenty of girl on girl action, one of the main filming locations is a strip club too., nothing special, but will keep watching....

Tom Pelphrey should have been nominated as a supporting actor for his performance in Ozark.

In a show full of unlikable fuckwits he stood out that's for sure.

This is not a compliment, I found his character about as pleasant as having my teeth pulled.

Given the dearth of decent looking new shows ( obvious COVID is playing a massive part in this ) I'm re watching Hannibal on Netflix. Kind of a re imagining of the Hopkins films for those who haven't seen it. Mads Mikkelson is just outstanding as usual as the good doctor and Laurence Fishburne does his job playing exactly the same character he always does. I enjoy the work of the bloke who plays Will Graham too. Utterly far fetched and full of bullshit scenarios ( that monument on the beach, seriously ? ) but still bloody entertaining as it was when I watched all those years ago.

I've got a long list of new shows to watch, hell, I'm only starting to get through my backlog - just started watching Watchmen, so good seeing a good version of that property and not one made by Hack Snyder (now there's some bait for the Snyder DC-verse fans out there πŸ˜‰ ).

I watched Hannibal for a season back in 2015 after it got hyped on here but it wasn't for me.

I haven't seen Afterlife, Gervais is an annoying screen presence to me, but I think The Good Place is brilliant (but I like all of those guys shows). I actually haven't seen or am not a fan of many of those comedy series nominated, which is weird as I usually have seen most of the nominations.

Where we watching the same show?

While I agree most of the main characters aren't likeable and are self-centred (by design), his character (Ben) was definitely not either of those. In fact, he always tried to do the right thing, but usually made the situation worse because of his mental illness.

    This scene was fantastic:

@Bovidae I found him annoying, but assumed I was supposed to find him annoying. I think his likeable ex skinhead character in that show with the Kiwi guy was a better performance.

Well it’s certainly fair to say he fucked up everything he got involved in. Even 2 minute noodle hair ( Ruth ) was less irritating than him.

GP is fine. It's easy watching. I enjoyed the first 2 seasons. But it's hardly laugh out loud stuff and it's pretty damn repetitive. It's just a bit limp for me after a while.

Afterlife was brilliant. Love him or hate him, get gets humanity.

@Nepia I think he's much better in this than in Banshee. Playing a neo-Nazi wouldn't be that hard compared to someone who is bipolar.

Ben is there to show how far Wendy and Marty are willing to go to protect themselves.

While I'm at it, where the fuck is Tony Dalton on that list for BCS?

I have also started Family Guy (only ever watched random eps) started right at the beginning, a few eps into S2.

Has some funny bits, but largely just ok so far...

I don't think it's a bad performance, I just think playing the bugged out dude is an easier performance to play. Weird, when you consider how pulpy Banshee is but I think there was more nuance to that role.

    :::

I straight up didn't believe this and thought it was one of the issues with the latest series along with them not giving Ruth any growth. You can't make her this bright yet this stupid at the same time. I still really like the series, but that didn't work for me.
