Hurricanes 2020

Interesting. He's signed with NZR through to 2022 and has the option to change Super Rugby franchises at some point post 2020.
Now, he only commits to the Canes for 2021. I guess he wants to keep his options open for 2022?@Stargazer said in Hurricanes 2020:

Edit. Nah looked like I'm wrong sanded he still had the option to move. He holds all the cards really

Great news: PUJ & Aumua re-sign
https://www.hurricanes.co.nz/news/article/aumua-umaga-jensen-extend-contracts-with-the-hurricanes/

In case anyone is wondering - after reading that media release - about the duration of that contract extension of Aumua and Umaga-Jensen :
https://twitter.com/Hurricanesrugby/status/1291236302793265152
Weird that the media release doesn't give this info. By the way, Aumua was already signed for 2021. -
Umaga-Jensen, 22, signed a one-year extension and will be with the Hurricanes until 2022.
Aumua, 23, is contracted until the end of 2023 to the Hurricanes and NZ Rugby, joining team-mates Tyrel Lomax, Du’Plessis Kirifi and Billy Proctor as confirmed in Wellington for the next three years.

PUJ and Jordie Barrett delaying their moves to the Blues until they can play with Beauden Barrett?

@Canes4life That article was horrible it didn’t even say how long they had resigned for.

@mikey07 yeah certainly has great experience, seems to be out of favour atm though. I think the next big signing needs to be Isaia Walker-Leawere.

@Canes4life Evans isn't out of favour; he was ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury, weeks ago.

@Stargazer right, that’s good then. Anything serious?

@Canes4life I hope not! Don't want to miss him for Mitre 10 Cup! Although, MMT and Flanders are great at 6/8, Evans' experience and leadership are important.

@Stargazer who would wear 6 out of those two? I would like to see Flanders get more time at 8 but then again MMT is playing the house down atm.

@Canes4life I'm not sure what's going to happen. I hope they move Brendon O'Connor to the bench and Evans to 7. Last year, MMT played most games at 6, with Flanders coming off the bench, but I'm not sure where the Magpies coaches prefer to play them if they both start. With MMT playing at 8 the entire SR and SRA season, there's a good chance he'll end up in the 8 jersey if Evans isn't wearing it.
