@MN5 wouldn't the baron being the Fran's Botha troll be the best prank ever?

Its not him. Not smart enough and certainly not nearly abrasive enough

Although the baron vpn-ing to an IP in the Waikato would be the cherry on top.

here is my rugby hot take that nobody has ever agreed with me in. EVER.

I say do away with the penalty for deliberate knock on. If you can get a hand to the ball from an inside position, then feel free to knock it down. Why the fuck not? What are we protecting against, people diving out of the line to try and knock it down? Surely that creates dummy opportunities. And its not like you'd ever knock it down if you had half a chance of catching it

I think the constant debate over whether a guy tried to catch it or not is bloody painful.

Come on, who is with me??? [Insery Jerry Macquire gif here]

    You had me until "here".

Well I started and finished with a "here" so I'll assume you meant the latter one.

    I disagree on all 3.

On Pearl Jam, like them, but never listened to anything but their first 3 albums.

Nirvana is overrated. I’d switch them off after a song probably. There best song is a cover of a David Bowie song.

I hate bands who say they hate ‘commercial’ music as they’re playing concerts to try and flog their albums to you.

I’d only fight you on the first one though, the other 2 I’m happy to agree to disagree.

    @voodoo

    It's a risk/reward decisions really though ain't it?

    what about some REAL jeopardy:

10 Point try for a successful intercept try ( no passing allowed)

    But

Red card for a knock on while trying the intercept

    😃

i like the really simple "Classic Albums" ones actually. Just musicians and normally the producer talking about how the sound of an album comes about.

    Those are great.

I watched The Kink's The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society a few weeks back. Really enjoyable. Depending on your definition, Ray Davies might have written the first heavy metal song back in 1964.

Of the Seattle big 4 bands, I'd take AIC over the other three.

Soundgarden > AIC > Nirvana > Pearl Jam for me.....

Stone Temple Pilots are equal with Soundgarden but I only recently found out they started in San Diego despite how they sound

@MN5 usually a band name is just a band name and you don't even think about it, but every so often I look at it and start to wonder.

I mean, how the fuck did they come up with STP? And what is Pearl Jam anyway?

They still rock. That’s all I think about. The new singer is such a worthy replacement. Strange name now you mention it though.....

As for the latter ummmm Pearl is a brand of drums so who knows.

Which brings up another one - how often does a barge pole get used for touching anything other than a river/canal bed?

Think of something pearl coloured and of a jammy consistency and you might be on track 😉

    Another music thread then...

I miss BSG, I like the eccentric ranty folk.

I hate sauce on eggs, in fact I hate anything touching my eggs, occasionally a dipping soldier but nowt else.

Why don't the lurkers on the fern join in? There are a few who will occasionally like posts but have never posted. All the fun is in joining in!
