Jordie Barrett used to get way too much criticism on the Fern but has silenced his critics with a string if superb performances in Super Rugby Aotearoa. Think he's one of the most skilled players I've seen. Hope he stick with the Canes for many seasons to come.
Wtf does that have to do with an underrated players thread?
I think if he improves his composure he could be an All Time great, yet until recently there were posters on the Fern suggesting he should be way down the pecking order.
Yeah and rightly so, as his play reflected he should be well down the pecking order. Now that he's improved his play, he's rated accordingly with most having him starting - funny that!
He'd be listed at about last on a list of underrated players.
Some of thought he always had the skills to become very good indeed and could become still much better. There is too much lazy group think and knee-jerk judgement about certain players by some regular posters on here.

When Joe Moody first made the ABs, I think I posted some thing like "Joe Who?" Arguably the best Loose Head Prop in the world now.

George Bridge, gets a lot of stick on here, sure he's not Jonah Lomu or Doug Howlett, but he is a Test quality winger and rated No 1 in NZ by his peers.
He’s Caleb Ralph, Scott Hamilton or Zac Guildford though

On a thread about under rated players bring up an established all black who is widely regarded as being one of the form players in SRA.
Next it'll be
Ardie Savea: because some people don't have him as first choice for all 3 loose forward positions.

I think the best guys for this thread are the Crusaders loose forwards. Not big names, barely mentioned in dispatches, but perform their roles well enough for their team to win the comp a week early. None will he mentioned as unlucky when the AB squad gets announced.
That's underrated.
