From the article below about Kurt Baker:

Playing tomorrow will make Baker eligible for the semifinals should Tech qualify. He will miss the following weekend's game against Clive because he will be at an All Black Sevens squad training camp.

The Texans will miss the services of winger Penikolo Latu and lock-loosie Izy Martin who have been suspended for six and one week respectively after being red carded last weekend.

Has anyone see Tim Farrell play, this season? Just wondering whether he'll be in the Magpies mix, after he pulled out, last year.

Yes, watched him play for Tech OB yesterday v Hastings RS. At this stage he has not made himself available for higher honours.

Top four are confirmed in the semi-finals with one round to play.

    Central HB v Hastings RS
    MAC v Tamatea
    Tech OB v Clive
    Pirates v Taradale
    Havelock Nth v NOB Marist

If Havelock Nth win with bonus point and Tech OB lose without bonus point they will both have 27 points but Tech OB will still qualify having defeated Havelock Nth 17-15 in their individual match.

And in further news the Napier High School Old Boys-Marist Senior Third kside did not let spectators down as they regained form and increased the number of points scored in their match against Bridge Pa to an impressive seventy five, bringing the weekly average to just over sixty six points per game. Once again all were registered against the Bridge Pa name on the scoreboard.

    From the HBRU Facebook page:

This weekend Premier games will still go ahead, however, no spectators will be permitted at the ground. This weekend thanks to Engage Video Creationeation and Oil Intel / Total Oil NZ, there are going to be live streams of 3 games so that you are able to stay up to date with the competition.

You will be able to view the games on the Hawke's Bay App, it can be downloaded by heading to www.hbapp.co.nz/app or by viewing on a desktop at https://www.hbapp.co.nz/news - it will appear in a news story. If you download the app to watch the game, you will be alerted just before kick-off.

The updated proposed draw for this weekend is:
    Saturday 15:
    - CHB v HRS - 3pm @ Central Park
    - MAC v Tamatea - 3pm @ Tremain Field 1 - LIVESTREAM
    - NTOB v Clive - 3pm @ Tremain Field 2
    - Pirate v Taradale - 1:15pm @ Tremain Field 1 - LIVESTREAM

    Sunday 16:
    - Havelock v NOBM - 3pm @ Tremain Field 1 - LIVESTREAM

Oh damn, not the Tech v Clive game. That would have been the one I'd watch.

@Stargazer Gutted that it is not live streamed (and the Texans having to give up home ground advantage) too as I can now no longer make it up home for the weekend. Fingers crossed for the win to the good guys which should see them into the semis, if they are still having them.

I started watching livestream of the Pirate v Taradale game late, so I don't know who the commentators are, but one of them is from the HBRU and is giving some interesting info now and then about the Magpies.

One thing he said is that assistant coach Josh Syms used to be a teacher and that Kurt Baker was one of his students, so that's where the relationship is coming from (and probably how they managed to get him to sign with the Magpies).

    Premiers - semi-finals on Saturday:

    1.15pm: Taradale v NOBM
    3.00pm: Hastings v Tech

Location TBC, but I assume it will be Tremain Field, again. Hopefully with a livestream of both games.

@Stockcar86 I remain ever hopeful. Remember they only snuck home by about eight or nine points whilst playing at home in the first round a couple a weeks ago.

Hastings and Taradale have the two best forward packs and Hastings' proved superior when they met.

I think NOB Marist have the most ability in attack.

But yes @Stockcar86 I think Hastings RS are looking good.

They are looking at playing both semi-finals on McLean Park, and will be streamed.

    1.30pm: Taradale v NOBM

Above kick-off times and location confirmed: McLean Park.

By the way, these kick-off times are different from those on the official HB club rugby site (1.15pm and 3.00pm, respectively), but obviously that may still change. I'd check in at the earlier time, just to be sure not to miss the start of the games! I've often found the times on the official site to be more reliable than those posted on the HBRU's social media.

The games will again be livestreamed through Hawke's Bay App.
