In the Waikato, if we stay at level 2 it is just Premier A and B grade semi finals and the Division Two Final, all played at FMG and probably live streamed on facebook. All other grades postponed for a week.

I see Norris and Luke Jacobson are playing for Hautapu. No Osborne in the Fraser Tech side.

Edit: Here is the full team lists. Still a place for Liam in the midfield for Raglan. 🙂

    Auckland

    Harbour

North Harbour Rugby have confirmed the decision that even if we get back to Level 2 by Saturday, there will be NO RUGBY THIS WEEKEND & UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. In the unlikely situation that we get back to Level 1 by Saturday, rugby will proceed as normal. This decision has been supported by our key Rugby committee leaders.

The key reasons for this are the lack of time to ensure all the necessary health and safety measures across all clubs, schools and fields under Level 2 conditions are established and signed off. As well as the need to prioritise the safety of people right now whilst also playing our part in combating this new challenge we are all facing.

The Union will wait for further information from MoH & NZR to advise on where to from here for rugby in our community.

We have also started work on the implications of this decision on our competitive grades and potential scenarios that may occur. We would ask that you please bear with us, as there is much to consider.

    Counties

Senior club rugby in the Counties Manukau region will go ahead this Saturday if the Government reduces the COVID-19 alert level in Auckland from 3 to 2 at midnight on Friday.

Following reported cases of community transmission in Auckland on Wednesday night, the city has moved back to a COVID level 3 lockdown while the rest of the country is back in level 2.

Under level 3, rugby cannot go ahead. However, under level 2, rugby can go ahead as long as strict COVID-19 protocols regarding crowd control, hygiene measures and contact tracing are in place.

While a decision has already been made to call off this weekend’s secondary schools and junior club rugby – a decision that will stand regardless of what alert level Auckland is in on Saturday – there is still a chance senior club rugby matches will take place.

Old Boys Guzzlers win Div 2 Waikato final. They have won over 150 games in a row. Only C team in Waikato, can't get promoted. Liam Messam wasn't playing for Raglan. Talk of Hamilton Marist setting up a C team to take them down.

    @Bovidae

Go Hautapu - my club while at Uni.

Noted Josh Gascoigne back from Europe, and Dylan Collier in for Oats. Mystified why Murray Iti in reserves though.

Interesting to see the IDMe contact tracing thing posted on the draws for club footy up here over the weekend.

    Wonder how many use it.

Waipu beat Mid Northern 18-15 to go add a 2nd title to their first ever title last season.

MN were lucky to avoid relegation last season, so a great turnaround from them.

@taniwharugby ah, thats long enough to lose the import tag - i noticed a few import accusations being tossed about in chat on the livestream.

@Magic65 yeah waipu have done a bit of recruiting, but most been there 2+ seasons now, many work out there too, particularly a few of the fijian boys working at North Pine.

HH could be accused of that with Hawkins (OBM last year) Davies (Kawakawa last year) Pryor (back from Japan, but was OBM before going) and Dunn (although Dunn been an HH man for years but been up in Kawakawa last 2 seasons for work)

Always hear people from differing clubs accusing others of importing and paying players, yet they all do it in one way or another.

Caught some of the live stream of HOBM vs Poneke on Saturday - keep an eye out for Fritz Rayasi eh, was creating havoc and looks to have a similar game to Clarke.

I read recently that Waikato Club rugby compeition is only 50 years old. The Breweries Shield.

Anyone explain this? Before that was it sub-union based competitions?

It looks like the Waikato-wide club competition only started in 1966.

Based on the info on the mooloo website there were separate sub-union club competitions before then.

    1936
Taupiri, Waipa and Hamilton sub-unions combine for a club competition and compete for the Stag Trophy. The inaugural winner is Hamilton Old Boys.

Watching East Coast final (found a Grassroots Rugby on my mysky I hadn't watched).

Both teams are wearing the same kit.
Both have Red shirts and black shorts but with some indescribable black swirls on the shirts supposedly making them 'different '.

But to add to the confusion, 1 guy doesnt have his team kit and is wearing a Counties Manukau style jersey!

Wait. Looks like a sub has come on now in second half wearing a black Jersey. Now 4 different types of jerseys on the field, but unfortunately 28 of the players still look identical.
