I'm seriously considering buying a new car. That'll make me feel better

I thought about doing that too. Unfortunately the wife thinks that 5 is enough, and she would kill me, so I would be another covid death.

    Instead I bought a relocatable 1930s house...

my little kia rio is 7 years old, and starting to battle. I am loath to put any money in to it as it's worth absolutely nothing

also i need a camping vehicle

I hear this. I have a Commodore that has just clicked over 330,000ks and it has done me well (although I would never have purchased another Commodore if they were still making them)

I test drove a new car and we nearly got it but I convinced Mrs Hooroo I should run my car into ground so to speak.

I think I have to bite the bullet soon though and buy one. Just no idea what I should get. I want a Bentley Continental GT. I'd also like a private jet but I can afford neither!

mine hasn't done anywhere near that. But it was a cheap car, and has spent most of its life parked in the tropical sun.

My current car is a 2016 Commodore (sports wagon) think the following year was the last of that shape before they bought out that awful European looking thing. Not surprised it was the end of the road (pun intended) for Holden.
I’d always been a Japper car owner but have loved owning a Holden ( current car is my 2nd now) have had it 3 years with no issues, touch wood. Gas hasn’t been too much of an issue. I’ve managed to get it down from 9.3 L per 100km to 8.9 L. Quite proud of that ( for some sad reason)

Oh and it’s black, black cars are cool

Yeah mine is a Black GTR and when I got it I was happy but quickly could see how clunky they did everything. No finesse inside. I prefer the interior of Fords which I drive for work in the comparable cars.

Favourite part of the car is leg room! I'm just shy of 6'3" and it's the first car I have owned that I didn't need the seat all the way back

@mariner4life mine is an almost 5yr old Mitsi Outlander with about 55k on it. I have picked up some really big clients locally, too, which means I dont need to do as much driving to visit clients anymore

@Mokey my guess is that you taught English in Asia is where @Snowy is coming from? Unless I am making that part up too 🤔

I have a 14 year old black car and short of having staff to detail it everyday, I would never buy another black car. They stay amazing for about 5.3 seconds. Then look dirty.

mine is electric blue. the paint flaked and fell of last year, turns out it was a paint issue, and Kia paid to have the thing stripped back to bare metal and re-sprayed.

I must be a sucker for black cars, 3 of my last 4 have been black. They do look shit hot when freshly cleaned and polished. But yeah shame it only lasts 3.6 seconds.. it’s worse when you drive a rural road every day..

@Virgil or have had water restrictions for months. I too have a black car. It is thing of beauty when cleaned but at the moment it looks like shit inside and out.

Don’t talk abut the inside, I’ve given up keeping mine clean. When you have young kids it’s like pigs at a trough. Food, clothes, food, empty packets from food, hair ties and food. I always stare forward when I get into my car, I never look in the back seat.
