@Snowy I started this the other day, about half way through S1

Annie Murphy is tidy, Kevin McCallister's mum is a bit scary though!

Yes. Annie adds to the scenery (and is pretty funny too).

They did 3 months on set each year to make each series. Never won an Emmy until this year as the show grew in popularity, then won every comedy award (7) plus two others a few days ago.

This was amusing (and I don't think a spoiler):

*One of the most brilliant pieces of writing comes towards the end of season one when David, who everyone assumes is gay, sleeps with the motel owner, and best “girl friend” Stevie. There is confusion on both sides as David comes out as pansexual.

Stevie: So, just to be clear… I’m a red wine drinker.

    David: That’s fine.

Stevie: Okay, cool. I only drink red wine. And up until last night, I was under the impression that you, too, only drank red wine. But I guess I was wrong?

David: I see where you’re going with this. Um, I do drink red wine. But I also drink white wine. And I’ve been known to sample the occasional rosé. And a couple of summers back I tried a merlot that used to be a chardonnay, which got a bit complicated.

Stevie: Oh, so you’re just really open to all wines.

David: I like the wine and not the label. Does that make sense?

    Stevie: Yes, it does.*

Ha, just saw that episode last night. The dinner party afterwards was outstandingly awkward, fair to say the olds had way more fun at the Hawaiian party.

@taniwharugby I still can’t quite work out what makes it such a good show, every single member of the family are soooooooo fucken annoying in their quirks and selfishness. Maybe that’s it ?

Roland and Bob crack me up whenever they’re on screen as well....and my boys think the black chick with the bug eyes look like something out of Jabba the Hutts gang.

@MN5 Roland and his deliberate annoyingness is almost too much for me but Bob is hilarious in an often creepy way.

Just read now it won all the Emmys. It was one of those shows that kept popping up as recommended on my Netflix feed and eventually I started watching it.

Anyone else tried Ted Lasso on Apple+ ?

First ep was a bit of a slow burn but this has real charm and good characters. Some good laughs too.
You start off thinking Ted is the joke but start liking him real quick. Set up like a standard fish out of water show but doesn't follow the formula. Ted isn't out of water, he is in his element, just that no one realises.
    Very enjoyable

    Loving it

I didn't realise that eps were still being released weekly and caught up too quick.
Now I have to wait for Fridays!
Potential one to watch with the missus as well. Plenty in there for the wimmin.

a few eps into S2 of Schitts Creek, another excellent episode last night (David gets a job, Alexis learns to ride a bike)

I dont really like Kevin McAllisters mum much though, and feel she often detracts from the scene she is in with overacting and being unlikable too

David is an awesome character and scenes with him and Stevie are always good!

maybe...Moira and Roland Schitt, I struggled with in terms of what felt like over acting, but didn't stop me from me enjoying the the program though.

@bayimports yeah I enjoy it, scenes with Moira and David are still good due to David.

I like Roland, his overacting doesnt bother me like Moiras

definitely overacting, i might have been more forgiving because shes an actor so i had it in my head, shes an actor without a job...and so the world is now her stage

@taniwharugby , yeah David's character funny right throughout. Funny, I am more ok with Moira than Roland, especially in the later eps, but I wont mention story lines, just that I feel Moira develops and Roland is Roland.

Fargo S4 started last night with a double episode. Every season has been very different but I liked what I saw so far.

They’re all just such dicks in their own way which makes the show so good

So excited about this. On the road for work so there’s tomorrow nights entertainment sorted.

Like a lot of shows each season is inferior to the last which is slightly concerning though

@mikey07 A great series. I still dip into it now and again. Re-watched the first two seasons a few weeks back.

It would be an interesting re-watch to try and pick the shark jumping moment. IMO they landed the jump but things got quite wobbly.
The whole Irish season (was it 3?) was a waste of time but they pulled back in line for a bit after that.
I just remember watching out the end out of obligation.

i thought the last episode was pretty much bang on. Not many shows that go for that long manage to stick it like that

The Irish series cops a lot shit but i thought it was good.

One of my all time favourite shows

    Finished Ratched last night.

Started off well, but never really got going and sort of meandered along at a steady pace without ever really gripping me.
