@R-L Still hold up eh?..Turns out my Mrs wasn't allowed to watch any R rated movies as a kid/teen (1st generation migrants so parents were ultra concerned about TV/movies in Oz) This means she is yet to see ANY of the classics. We watched Kindergarten Cop the other day which went down well, maybe Lost Boys should be next. So many options now for movie night.

    The Invitation (2015)

Creepy and ominous tale about a bloke accepting an invite from his ex-wife to a dinner party with some old friends. Great film, well acted and with a decent screenplay. Loved it.

Not a review, but I'm looking forward to this, a sequel to Borat.

Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan

    Apparently filming is finished.

Watched "The Gentlemen" last night, now on Amazon at least in Australia.

Guy Ritchie movie following in the footsteps of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Not my favourite of the three, but having not watched either of the previous two recently was a welcome throw back to both.

4 ganja crews out of 5 gangsters

Saving Private Ryan is still THE BEST War Movie ever made......fuck it is amazingly done.......well, it's about equal with Schindlers List but is that a War Movie or a movie that took place during the war ? both brilliant, shit Spielberg is a genius.

My boys are coming on a roadie with me for work this week and ex wife has given the go ahead to watch SPR on Netflix provided there's some parental guidance. Do other ferners reckon it's an appropriate flick for a 10 and 12 year old to watch ? interested in some thoughts.

@MN5 we use this website a fair bit

    Saving Private Ryan Movie Review

Bloody, tragic war epic doesn't hold back. Read Common Sense Media's Saving Private Ryan review, age rating, and parents guide.

breaks down media into various contributing factors. Above all, it depends on your kids - some are sensitive and can't handle stuff they see; others are hardened/jaded and things faze them less.

Had a quick skim.....fuck it's awkward to know to be honest. When I was young I remember Krull scared the shit out of me, this scene in particular, when the blind seer opens his eyes and they're black......

I look at this now and laugh at what a pussy I was.

I guess SPR is basically completely historically accurate ( with a load of liberties thrown in ) so does that make it more appropriate to know what their great granddads did in the war ?

I thought Nolan's Dunkirk was its equal. Those two pretty much top of the pile in my opinion.

Spielberg is an amazing story teller whose body of work makes him almost without peer. SPR has aged very well and although most of the movie is your typical American flag waving tripe, the opening sequence is movie making brilliance.

Hmmmmmm, it's damn close I'll give it that but not quite. Still brilliant.

watching that with a great surround sound system makes it so much better too, hearing the bullets all round you.

TR Jnr & I watched it a few years ago, I think it is more ensuring you are there to watch it with them for the inevitable questions or just explain things to them if they need it, your younger one's attention may waver as it is quite a long film.
