The Manawatū Turbos have made nine changes to the starting XV for their round four clash with Counties Manukau in Pukekohe on Saturday.

A host of players will be given the opportunity to impress as the side look to benk their first win of the season.

Upfront Chris Eves and Sam Stewart have been promoted to the starting side after helping to solidfy the scrum from the bench last week with both Tietie Tuimauga and Siua Maile moving back to the bench.

Liam Mitchell returns from injury joining Micaiah Torrance-Read in the second row with Teofilo Paulo sliding to the bench.

Brayden Iose is out with a knee injury so Tyler Laubscher shifts to No 8 with TK Howden getting his first career start, joining Shamus Hurley-Langton on the side of the scrum.

Ben Wyness returns the No 10 jersey in place of Stewart Cruden and Josiah Maraku is back at centre in place of Nigel Ah Wong.

There are changes on both wings with Ben Werthmuller returning from injury and Te Rangatira Waitokia given the start in his blazer game.

The bench also sees the return from injury of Johnny Galloway who has made a rapid recovery from injury after looking likely out for the season after the preseason

Interesting to see NMS is stringing a few games together, makes a nice change. Any comment on his form? From the brief bits I've seen he's not exactly standing out...

Counties are having a bad run - 11 losses in a row

They haven't won since round 2 last year (39-25 over Harbour)

@Bones def hasn't stood out in 2 of the 3 of theirs I watched, aside from that YC in the opening game

I think Counties despite being raw look capable of being much better.

I haven't lost the faith but I disagree with your last statement unless something drastic changes. Not only have the majority of our players looked a shade below, the reliance of Kerr at 10 is costing us time and time again.
The coaching looks OK, the set pieces, mauls and maul defence has been quite well put together even if the scrum has fallen apart a couple of times.
I'd like to see Leger given a run at 10. He looked capable when he filled in under emergency at the Chiefs as has far far better kicking from hand than Baden, who has been atrocious in this skill at the worst moments.

@Crucial Kerr def doesn't look up to it, which will be stifling anything outside.

I thought they have shown potential but lacking polish...but nothing a bit of confidence wouldn't help set them right.

Tough digging out of that hole, but i expect they will be too strong for Manawatu

You could also play Laulala at 10, as both would offer more on attack.

Kerr's goal kicking seems to be his only strength, while no one else is reliable.

Lindenmuth gives away a stupid penalty within range of the sticks. Brain farts like that just kill a team.

Rugby in 2020 = penalty --> kick for touch --> 5 metre lineout --> maul drive --> try

The squad isn’t great, particularly the pack. They still should be doing better than 11 losses in a row
