What are you listening to, right now................

There are very few albums I've listened to more than The Real Thing, but Angel Dust would be one of them.
-
@mr-bungle yeah I've seen FNM 3 times. The one in i think 95 at the Logan Campbell Centre is one of the best gigs I have ever been to
-
93 and 97 both at the Hordern Pavilion. 2015 at Soundwave.
Was going to see them this year until covid ruined everything; Metallica and Iron Maiden as well. This year can suck a bag of dicks.

I was gonna see them for the first time in May but didn’t for obvious reasons

@MN5 I’m not a music tosser and I know who Jeff Beck is and his reputation as a guitar is - I think he’s more widely known than you think.
Yeah I probably worded that wrong, the point I’m making is that the other bands I mentioned had guitarists who are much more famous in one sense. Beck is certainly not unknown.

Indeed. Pumpkinhead opening at their peak as well.
Incredible gig.

@MN5 There was a doco on Beck on Sky a couple of months back. He came across as very much his own man. Page loves him.
I might have to track that one down. He’s a guitar hero who justifies the wank in my opinion, I’ve never heard anyone do the stuff he does.
-
I'm a huge Gary Moore fan, and Beck was one of his guitar idols. Jeff Beck's "Live at Ronnie Scott's" concert blu-ray/DVD is a great watch.
As for FNM, I've only seen them once but that was following Judas Priest and before Soundgarden, so a Halford, Patton and Cornell trifecta.

Not dissing the praise of Beck but if you like that have you listened to much of Barry Cadogan of Little Barrie? (They did the theme tune to Better Call Saul)

Never heard of them, will have a listen though
EDIT. Shit, this is pretty cool, he's definitely channelling the guitar hero vibe quite nicely considering it's a dying art.

Youtube him. He has quite a few vids showcasing his guitars and explaining how his style came about.
He isn't just a flashy technician though. Adds some really nice touches to melodies.
I first hunted him out after seeing him fill in on an in studio BBC thing with Paul Weller. Steve Craddock must have been busy with something else (which he usually is) and Cadogan sat in. Can't remember the track but he added some beautiful extras that made me take notice.
It was only then that I found out he was the same guy that plays the Better Call Saul theme. -

Discovered Gary Moore in my teens, never heard guitaring to that degree before.
Must have played the shit out of Wild Frontier... Friday on my Mind, Over the Hills and Far Away etc...just brilliant stuff. -

They’re also just as dead as him which is sad.

FNM - I'm not in the same league as you connoisseurs, but I like a lot of their stuff. Showing my true colours when I say my fav song of theirs is Evidence - just love that cruisy beat.
I also scored 100% at the Pickled Possum once with my rendition of their Easy cover - not for my tunefulness by any stretch, but (I think) because I didn't need the karaoke machine for the words, and because I nailed the timing and all-important enthusiasm parts.
Man I miss the Possum.
