    @Snowy Love Bacon, but if I open a packet I don't have to cook and eat the whole packet which was I thought the point of the topic

    @Virgil
    I'm the opposite - loathe hotel buffet breakfasts. Boring, lukewarm food, usually swimming in fat and shit coffee. To the extent that even when the eat all you can buffet is included in the room rate I will go out and find somewhere better to eat

    Given you have zero penchant for gluttony, why are you on this thread .... multiple times ... got something to hide?

    It’s ok, it’s the coming out thread ... just open up and be honest. Nobody goes to AA to tell people they don’t drink much.

    I must admit when I go to a kids party and there is a bowl of cheerios it is a magnet

    They are totally BBB but I'll hoover up a shitload of cheerios at kid's parties and still be dipping in long after they've run off to play

    It’s odd. Lots of ppl mentioning savory things here - I will always take savory over sweet. Always. Never order dessert.

    But don’t really pig out on them.

    Just something about those god damn allsorts ....

    I find sausage rolls in the main very disappointing. Soggy, oily pastry and a lack of flavour in the meat. Probably because in my catering days we used to knock out several hundred a day - home made puff pastry and sausage meat - straight from the oven. Delicious

    I must admit when I go to a kids party and there is a bowl of cherrios it is a magnet. I don't know why as they are processed pap but I always eat more than I should. But I stop at 4 or 5 and let the kids have a turn.

    I'm really struggling to think of something I am addicted to in the way you guys list. I over eat but on everything - there's nothing I have to demolish.

    Sausage rolls are shit, excellent description. Even at a young age I looked at the correlation between them and chronic obesity.

    I do love Bacon, Eggs and Salmon for a protein hit as often as I can get.

    Yeah, absolutely disgusting. Can't even stand the sight of them.

    Croissants are the bomb. God I can destroy them.

    When I was a comms night shift worker the lardos who worked for Fire cooked up massive trays of Sausage rolls nightly. Fuck they stunk the whole floor out !

    Same when I was working at a call centre. A vegan co-worker called them savage rolls. First and only time I've agreed with a vegan.

    I quite enjoyed the euro style buffets for a change though.

    I don't mind South East Asian breakfast buffets - although their bacon is shit (@Snowy )

    Lots of fresh ingredients - make you an omelet - congee - fiery soups - curry Just the sort of food with which to start the day

    Agree on most of that. The bacon is generally crap - so had to resort to omeletes, soups and curries. The Taj in Delhi did it well. I used to request trips there as well just for the curries. Fantastic northern Indian "tasting selection" meals for dinner. Heaps of samples of different dishes as room service. Didn't go to the dinner buffet much. I just ended up with a confused mix of curried something that was slush.

    My buffet technique improved over time.

    Should be on your CV as continuous improvement:

    personally led and refined processes relating to delivery of mission critical packages under tight deadlines and in high pressure environments. Continuously improved these approaches over a period of 6 years with tangible results for normally accepted metrics*

    *= I became a fat bastard

    That definition could be modified a litlle - breakfast buffets were generally 7 to 10am so definitely tight deadlines, and high presure if the bacon was running low. I perfected the buffet style over 20 years but 6 is probably enough, and yes the results were tangible and measurable- about 20 kilos I'd say.

    Oh and yes, but I skipped lunch to make me feel better.

    @canefan Yes.

    "Approximately, a mass produced chicken nugget has 50% meat and the rest is fat, ground bone, blood vessels and connective tissues.

    I don't have a problem with that.

    That is something that it is best not to think about. Like Donald Trump naked or Grey's Anatomy returning to TV.

    Whole chain of them in Switzerland - used to frequent the one in Basel.

    They did a whole range of ice-cream too IIRC.

    Surprised no-on in the UK has mentioned Greggs. Freshly baked sausage rolls, baked bean and cheese melts, Bacon and cheese turnovers.

    Eat til your full and then some.
