Grant Dalton has gone up in my estimation.

    .

In April 2019, Symmans emailed Dalton about the possibility of attending a health and safety briefing run by a specialist consultancy at a meeting of the event steering group.

"This [is] a workshop to identify ACEs risks," Symmans wrote, adding that Horton "will be attending. [You] are also invited to attend."

Dalton replied minutes later, indicating he did not want to attend.

"I would rather staple my cock to a burning building [than] attend a Health and Safety briefing - are you kidding me, that would be the most fucking boring arse covering load of mind numbing bullocks ever invented."

@Stargazer Wow. Wouldn't want to be flying near that. Never heard of a "wet" microburst, they are normally wind events - sometimes with the downpour / hail as well.

Quite some CB to do that.

Hell yes. Been caught in the "just wind" version. A relatively light A340 going into Hong Kong at TOGA thrust a few hundred feet above the runway, all four engines screaming. We had nothing. Just reducing airspeed. Scary.

Then you come out the other side, after the go around, and all hell breaks loose trying to contain climb rate to assigned altitude and not overspeed.

CB's suck, and there is one right above my head as I type.

@Snowy That's the good thing about afterburners, you don't often run out of thrust due to weather.

Being an inefficient based on a LL mud mover engineat height and trying to keep you rate/G/climb high, sure. Weather not so much

No you wouldn't - just fuel.

Which is the ultimate loss of thrust.
