Do we need to change the word filter from "piston wristed gibbon" to "Willis"?

Someone makes a positive personal change in their life and they are only met with scorn. Meanwhile most of their genuine concerns are simply ignored. It was incredibly brave for Willis to speak as he did. This thread just shows you why.

When he says he was watching porn once every few weeks or months it's pretty obvious he doesn't have an addiction.

He is using the word "addiction" to absolve himself of responsibility. His "faith" says it's wrong, but god damnnit he enjoys it so much he couldn't help himself from time to time. So he thinks there must be something "wrong" with him - how can he enjoy something that is meant to be "unnatural"? Ohhh it's an addiction!!!! It's not my fault!! I'm sooo brave to have gone 2 1/2 years without it!! (or is that 2 1/2 years without being caught by the mrs?).

You call it brave, I call it stupid.

I've been friends with a lot of Christians over the years, from as a kid to now.
Lovely people generally but most have the most fucked up ideas on what's normal and not normal/ unnatural ( by church standards obviously)
One I flatted with wouldn't let her son watch Harry Potter movies because they are all witches and wizards.
One mate as teenagers didn't like me playing certain songs like Queens Bohemian Rapsady because it's lyrics were against gods will or some shit.
3 of them married within a couple of months of meeting their partners just so they could fuck and not go against gods will
All marriages failed btw

But they will LOVE the wallowing in self-pity for their failure.

The fucked up ones are all about martyring themselves and making a big song and dance about it so everyone can see it.
