    The Heartland provinces haven't had a normal season, but have still played quite a few games.

    We're now nearing the end of the season, with - as far as I know - only one more game to be played: Poverty Bay v Wanganui. This game is the only Heartland game to be televised this year (Sky Sport 3 from 2.00pm), thanks to it being the curtain raiser to the Ranfurly Shield game between Hawke's Bay and Manawatū.

    Wanganui line-up:

    1 Gabriel Hakaraia, 2 Joe Edwards, 3 Kamipeli Latu, 4 Josh Lane, 5 Matt Ashworth, 6 Campbell Hart, 7 Jamie Hughes, 8 Semi Vodosese, 9 Cameron Davies, 10 Dane Whale, 11 Alekesio Vakarorogo, 12 Timoci Seruwalu, 13 Josaia Bogileka, 14 Vereniki Tikoisolomone, 15 Tyler Rodgers-Holden.

    Reserves:
    16 Dylan Gallien, 17. Hadlee Hay-Horton, 18. Matthew Brown, 19. Bradley O’Leary, 20. Lindsay Horrocks, 21. Cody Hemi, 22. Dillon Adrole.

    @Stargazer Any idea which of these matches will be granted first-class status by NZRU - or have been?

    @ARHS From what I've read on the websites/FB pages of these provinces, most matches against other Heartland provinces were first-class games, while those against development or academy teams were not. There may be some exceptions though.

    @Bovidae I love Mainfreight Rugby it’s really awesome how they go around the Heartland Provinces and show highlights of their games which otherwise aren’t shown.

    This was the Poverty Bay squad that played, today. IWL's younger brother in the starting line-up.

    I was hoping they'd upload a highlights video on YT because this game was televised, but so far, nothing. Maybe the highlights will first be shown on Mainfreight Rugby.

    Anyway, it was a game of two halves. The final score was

    :::

    Poverty Bay 38 - 41 Wanganui

    @mikey07 Yes, he's back playing for Greytown, the old club and province his dad and uncle played for. Zac also played for Greytown and Wai-Bush in 2016.

    @mikey07 He also turned out for Waikato last season as well so perhaps going to the Bush is not such a large falling of stocks as first appears!
