My view is that the more people come to understand that having children is actually a privilege and not a ‘right’ or ‘should just happen’, the greater compassion and understanding they will have for those that can’t or choose not to. Unfortunately some people will always feel the need to judge others and so ask unnecessary questions and say inappropriate stuff.

@booboo thanks. Endo is terrible. And the worst aspect is, so many women are dismissed when it comes to bad periods. Just 'unlucky' or 'complainers'. I had several doctors shrug, then at last one who was all oh hell no, you are getting referred to a obgyn. Very nice specialist diagnosed me in oh about 20 seconds, surgery 6 weeks later.
I just hate thinking of all the infertile chicks who might have had a different outcome if someone had taken them seriously rather than patting their head and recommending ibuprofen and a wheatie pack.It doesn't help that a good many gynos are men. We had one who basically said sometimes the pain is all in a woman's head. I told him he should give me his mobile number so next time I had a wife passed out from the pain on the bathroom floor he could come and give her a pep talk. Stupid fluffybunny. The nurses are usually fantastic though, very understanding. But it amazes me how many of the doctors' answer is basically dose up on tramadol. That or suck it up, it's just a bit of pain.

I was surprised Mrs TR wanted to have a 2nd given her pregnancy wasnt straight forward (neither were) and the toll it took on her, mentally and physically was tough to watch..didnt help having to big boppers either (one an ounce under 10pd and the other well bver 10pd)
My first pass reading this. I read that as she had two big boobs, and you had weighed each one individually. You, sick, weird sicko.

Yes. I did it once. Thought I'd try to get the dole while looking for a job. One visit to the Social Welfare office, and realising I'd need to come back for some group talkie type things was enough. No way did I want to be considered in the same 'basket' as what/who I saw there.

@JC honestly, the ones who say shit like that, makes me wanna knuckledust them in the balls, and when they are curled up in a ball crying and wheezing, tell them to suck it up cos it's just a little pain. Then offer two paracetamol. Endo pain is not even on the same planet as normal period pain.

Some of you have had to play some shitty fucking cards...
My wife and I decided early on we didn't want kids. More her than me, but I was more than OK with it as didn't feel mature enough to be a responsible Dad. I know she got a lot of questions about why. People naturally assumed there was an issue and couldn't believe we didn't want them.
Never had a single regret. All for the best as she got secondary progressive MS in her early 30's, I became the sole income and also care giver for the next 15 years or so when she had to go into a home for full time care.
Then inherited 3 kids with new partner. Jeezuz parents - it never stops does it? Always some sort of fucking drama going on. Son's a fucking useless wastrel who has issues that he deals with by being a full time stoner. Her ended up living with me for 3.5 years. I choose not to live with his mother (more drama) but somehow ended up with an early 20's fucktard.
I have a blood nephew who I have seen 4 times in my life (lives in Switzerland a country my brother was banned from - them and Vanuatu).
I'm actually pretty fucking comfortable with my own company so have no regrets. I do get the difficult to make friends without kids thing but I don't work very hard to keep up with the couple of friends I do have.
While I have my health (post COVID) there's a whole lot of the world I've yet to see. If / when health packs up - I've been through all that. Wouldn't want to put anyone through the care thing. Rather pay some stranger to change my fucking nappies.

Look, you had people from losing side of the political spectrum congratulating others on the win. It's mostly a contest of ideas, without the assigning of evil motives to those who don't agree with you.
