Gangs of London is still not here despite Stan having the rights.

On The Boys S2 it was good, but I don't think it was as unputdownable as S1. It still cracks me up that there are two Kiwis as the leads.

Brave New World: This was both good and crap at times. Based on the Aldos Huxely novel. The main characters best friend (Kylie Bunbury) was hotter than her so that was kind of annoying as she got way less screen time.

Upload: Another afterlife show from one of the Parks and Recs guys. I thought this show was great and the female lead (Andy Allo) in it is hot.

Roadkill on BBC is very well acted.

Yeah bit different from the usual and a distinct lack of huge drama or action but despite all that, extremely watchable and catchy.

Felt it faded as things went on, and slipped a bit into the typical David Hare cliches.

Mrs. Pakman and I finally got round to first series of Luther. Very watchable, even if somewhat far fetched. We like fact that episodes fairly self contained.

Watched that first episode of The Undoing

Didn't hate it. Love Nicole Kidman, though she is starting to look old (he says as a fully grey haired man these days)

Full Frontal was good but by no means a must see.

Hugh Grant, in a break from tradition, is playing the role of Hugh Grant so far.

    I hope it goes somewhere.

I watched a couple of decent shows on Netflix. Sneakerheads is just funny LA urban sports culture comedy, and the Playbook is a show that features a top coach each episode, a great insight into the minds of greats like Jose Mourinho, Patrick Mouratoglou and Jill Ellis

@MiketheSnow I have bailed half way through S3...may revisit after a while, but seemed very samesy for me.

Half way through Haunting of Bly Manor.

Is decent story, not as good as Hill House in the creepy side, couple of episodes are tough to get your head around whats going on, although figured out part of it early enough (re Miles & Flora)

Watched The Queen's Gambit on Netflix, a good show to watch with the missus. Acting is very good and story is interesting. Basically set in 60s following orphan girl who turns out to be a Chess Master and follows her struggles through life.

just started watching that ourselves the other night, agreed, well acted and just a bit different

Away from the streaming shows for moment, has anyone else been sticking out the death throes (pun intended) of Westside?

After investing a bit of time watching the various series as they came out I have to watch this final one but it is by far the weakest of all the OF/Westside ones.

The writers have admitted that they are hamstrung by themselves in having a show that provides a story that leads to somewhere that everyone knows. There are no plot surprises as we all know where the characters end up. This series is just tying the ribbon (or nailing the coffin lid).

The worst part is the character of Ted. The actor just doesn't have the chops to bridge between where he started and how he will reappear in OF.

It's a slow crawl to Rita's eventual death, evn if it does have the odd entertaining moment.

I kinda stalled on it halfway through season... 4, I think?
I didn't have any real problems with it, other than the new actress playing Cheryl being a charisma-black-hole, and somehow making that character un-fun and unlikeable. I mostly just stalled as I was staying with my sister over the lockdown, and it was one of the shows in the middle of the mutual-interest TV-show venn diagram... and I think she stalled on it, or forgot about it, leading to me not watching it for a while.
I've been thinking recently I should give it another crack... but it sounds like it's going to be diminishing returns... I was quite surprised to see just now - they've managed to eke 6 seasons out of it?
    I was impressed they'd managed 4.

@Kruse the Cheryl character actually comes right. She has completely nailed the part as is a dead ringer for a young Robyn Malcolm (well you can imagine that she is anyway).

Worth watching for the kiwiana type period memories as they wade through time. It's just really this final series that I am finding a bit difficult.
Some of the main characters are also in a phase where the overall story dictates that they aren't very likable which makes it even harder to watch.

I tried to watch the Barbarians on Netflix 3 nights ago, but for whatever reason it wouldn't play.so I clicked on TQG instead.

Felt a bit strange sitting down on my own to this with a glass of red, but I kicked on. And I absolutely love it . Not sure why it resonates really, but really enjoyable.

    Finished Haunting of Bly Manor.

Was ok, only thing to compare with Haunting of Hill House is they both have haunting in the title.

This is quite different, definitely very few creepy moments, is more one you need to really watch to pick up whats going on, there are hints along the way, but some episodes seem confusing at the time.

@Crucial I've never seen OF but have enjoyed Westside but agree this final season is rough. No real story arc beyond the obvious.

And half the cast is the same...

I thought the frights were decent and felt a bit meh at the end... the final scene or two could have been from a completely different TV show! Weird.

    @Crucial And I mean spectacular. 11/10

I'll go as far as 9.5/10 (I'm a tough judge)

You had my hopes up that the alltime best TV breast appearance award, currently held by Alexandra Daddario in True Detective, had been beaten.

    Stacked!
