Given the Dictator was an actual film rather than "everyone is in on the joke except the yanks" like Bruno and Borat I thought it was fucken good entertainment. Some awesome laughs in there.

Borat is a bit like Anchorman, everyone quotes it but it isn't actually very funny.

Sacha Baron Cohen + Rebel Lardarse = Train wreck.

On to other films. Last Knights. Sword and samurai flick with Clive Owen and Cliff Curtis, plus cameo appearance by Morgan Freeman. Sadly nothing these three could do to save this crock of shit. Obviously just a pay check for each of them.

Avoid.

Oh shit i watched a bit of that the other night on Foxtel. Why did credible actors agree to that steaming pile of shit? It's really awful.

I thought Borat was pretty fucking funny actually.

Semi Pro was on last night. That's a funny fucking movie.

Watched White House Down again yesterday. That really is a modern classic when it comes to action / shoot em up / America! America! films.

Is that the Butler one or the Tatum one? Both are great fun

I prefer the one where they were doing burnouts around the whitehouse in a suv. The name of the film is not important, I'd sit through either one again.

I'm the opposite, I thought the Tatum one was better, but I wouldn't watch either again and wish I hadn't watched the Butler one the first time. 14 year old me might have liked them but then 14 year old me probably recently saw Die Hard so he'd likely thumb his nose at them too.

MR and I likely have dictionaries with completely different definitions of the word classic.

The first time I watched Borat there were scenes I couldn't breath I was laughing so hard.

Watched Daddys Home with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Yo9u know what you're getting and it's fairly predictable (unsurprisingly) but still worth the 90mins of your life. 3 out of 5.

Spotlight. Great cast dealing with systemic child sex abuse in Boston. Excellent movie.

Isn't there another Butler one of the Whitehouse, but set in London, England out now...?

Add me to the Borat was so funny I struggled to breath group. Best first date movie ever! Weirdly enough I didn't thunk much of Anchorman but that might have been because I was late to the party watching it so had heard it all quoted and blown out of proportion before I saw it. I also like Rebel Wilson though I have only seen her in Pitch Perfect which was definitely one of the better chick flicks going.

London is Falling.

I enjoyed, but probably more cheesy than the first. Not much a spoiler to say they decimate London

You can add me to that list as well. I find the guy far more unfunny than funny, he just annoys me and I actively avoid his movies.

Unsubtle humour is something that has to be done with subtlety IMO.

I find some of his stuff funny, just like Sandler (Happy Gilmore is one of my fave movies) but some stuff I just sit there wonder how they thought that would be funny.

But I guess that's comedy though isn't it, kinda like art and down to personal taste, something I find funny, someone else wont and vice versa.

I don't hate Will Ferrell like NTA says, I reckon Step Brothers and the Other Guys are awesome. Also loved his turn in the Ladies Man.

It's Adam Sandler who I fucken despise.

I thought I was suffering alone there, I avoid him like the plague . People raved to me about old school like watching it was a life changing experience , all the way through I was thinking " how much funnier would this scene be if Ferrel wasn't in it?" .
