So the best Sky cricket commentators haven't jumped ship.

    Maybe they didn't want them?

Ian Smith said at the time he would remain loyal to Sky. The others (e.g., Doull, Styris) already have overseas gigs that would be well-paid.

@canefan At least Smithy only does sideline commentary I used to like Stevenson as a commentator now I really don’t he seems to try too hard.

@mikedogz they're either untried, experienced with all the charisma of a plank, try too hard to be funny. Couple sound interesting but in the main it'd be nice to have some y'know actual broadcasters. Stevenson's obviously the exception but he annoys me nowadays

Sonia Gray looks pretty appealing, that’s about the most positive thing I can say.

Ian Bishop will be good for a bit of Caribbean flavour and identifying players I know little about.

I like(d) the sky cricket commentary team, only Riggor had started to grate. But only a bit, which is a good effort considering you listen to them for 6 hours a day.

I think they'd become excellent, so I will miss them.

From my POV, shame that Riggor is the only one to move.

Cumming kept abreast of the provincial scene, so wasn't totally blindsided by someone new (like Riggor was). Doull and Styris had great knowledge of other (visiting) world players from their T20 circus gigging. They were a good balanced team. Remember the holy cow days of Martin Crowe ....

But prepared to give them a go.

Jeets should be interesting. Not often have a spinners POV in the box. Plus his domestic,& county knowledge

Doull is doing radio commentary alongside Rikki Swannell and Mike Hesson

Craig McMillan had a stint on the Sky commentary team before becoming batting coach and I thought he was good. I think he did a few tests after finishing as batting coach as well. What has he got on his head?

BMac was also with Sky as a newbie - I found him a bit vanilla.

Sonia Gray is the Lotto lady - but, apparently a cricket tragic.

TBH I'm not planning to get Spark Sport this year. Cricket will be on the radio for me again - "Great days of summer....".

I'm assuming Sonia Gray will be presenter rather commentator.

But I'm prepared to be surprised*

    *dissapointed.

@Rapido You're probably right - a successor to Richie Benaud - we'll see shades of Gray!

.....and with his lack of spin as a player we’re still not getting one

Honestly,I'll be missing Ian Smith. I know some don't like his commentary style but his level of passion when commenting the Black Caps is next level!

Some very good names overall, but

    Cricket without Smith, Waddle, Coney
    Cricket with Sumo Stevenson

... adds up to me delaying a Spark Sport re-subscription until the very last possible moment.
