@Yeetyaah Yeah, I rate Lord and I think he will be in the squad. But I am thinking of an experienced lock to complement the young locks. Unfortunately there aren't that many around.

He’s not hugely experienced but Dalzell would be a good pick up for someone. There’s no room for him at the Blues

But as you say, Dalzell isn't experienced either, even compared to the other locks in the squad. The Chiefs could just as easily sign someone like Parsons. McMillan might look at one of the BOP locks.

Hope the Chiefs are having a look, that sort of player could be gold at Super level (NB: I haven't seen one Harbour game).

@gt12 I would think that the Chiefs already have their 3 hookers sorted. Remember that Harris should be back. There might not be too many contracts available for hookers. Maybe the Highlanders?

We have two good(ish) ones and one shit one don't we? Can't we ship him off?

@gt12 Slater will be the 3rd hooker and is likely signed to develop for the future. I still think players from within the franchise area should be preferred.

I don't give a toss about this, it's a franchise system.

Slater is good, I was meaning that we should dump Taukei'aho; he's a hopeless thrower.

@gt12 The evidence from NPC is that he has improved quite a bit. But, untested at higher level though. His tackling has been ferocious at time, so maybe he is stung to improve.

The list of hookers that still have issues with lineout throwing is a long one.

I'm a Taukei'aho fan. It didn't help him or Slater that the Chiefs didn't have any tall locks as targets.

Is this a coaching issue? I don't see how so many of these guys can all be so poor at it.

@gt12 It has to be but there are 3 parts to a successful lineout (throw, lifters, jumper). It's not always the hooker's fault unless the throw is crooked.

Taylor has had some average throwing games this season, and he's meant to be one of our best.

@mikey07 Hard to know at present. As you say there will at least 5 hookers ahead of him. Taukei’aho says himself that he is only focused on Waikato and the Chiefs.

A few hints about the squad (some new talent from within the region and some surprises). I hope the latter is more than just Bryn Gatland.

I like the look of S. Misa. He is strong and hard. Don't know much about his throwing though.

Alaimalo off to the Landers on a 3 year deal.

Probably be first choice fullback down there, unless there is someone else that I can't think of right now...??
