One thing neither Reece or Rieko offer is a kicking game - it's crazy to me these guys don't work on these sort of skills as professional players.

Reece has even admitted that this is a big work-on.

If he could get bigger stronger and faster, and develop some line breaking ability too that would be great

Wow. That's a kick in the dick for Akira Ioane.

Loving the logic in Foster's selection tho: "we made a shit-ton of changes and lost, so now we're going to make another shit-ton and win!"

Which they would anyway, because Argentina 🤷♂

Btw I dont see how Jordie is any more solid than any other player in the backline to take care of the 14 position which is apparently bombarded by the opposition kicking. There seems to be this fallacy where people see a player with limited attacking ability and therefore assume he must be solid and safe with other areas in the game.

Ben Smith was our safest player as well as one of our most dangerous ball in hand. Beauden with all his flair is just as solid under the high ball.

I would agree he seems to slow for the wing, brought it up a few weeks ago that I don't get Jordie keeping his place, but after he scored the try and made the try saving tackle in Bled 3 I had the feeling that he was not getting dropped (unless rested) , and that Fozzie had him as the number 1 right wing.

@canefan Changing your surname to Barrett is step 1.

@canefan and not make unnecessary mistakes...
He did seem faster last year.

I'm going to address the gazelle in the room-is BB playing well enough to be in the team?

Frizzo vs Akira. Seems to me Akira was up earlier and wrecking havoc in their line totally destablizing their attack but what do I know..

Defo playing well enough to be full-back. Can't complain about the results when he has.

Yes he has been overall good I think at 15 but he is hardly used for kicking, made mistakes and pushes JB to wing.
If we look at 10,14,15 is that the strongest in those positions or is 10-15 axis that important?

What mistakes has BB made at fullback?

Pick a Barrett for fullback (not Kane or Scott) the other one goes to the bench. Both of them cover more than one position from there.

    Too simple eh?

That move would then give the starting backs and reserves more balance to cover the midfield and wing.

@Snowy although...SB is less likely to do something dodgy in a ruck if he plays at 15...and using Fozzie logic, he's tall so must be good under the highball

In a ruck, yes. Overall probably not.

I know not scientific but just comparing the scores in the Bledisloe series when Beaudie has played full back and when he has not, I'd say he is first choice full back by a long way. Any hopes of him ousting Ritchie have probably died for good.

Seems to enjoy the time and space at 15, looks stifled at 10 sometimes. To be fair his pack played shit last time out

@KiwiMurph at least one kick in Bled 2 28th minute and I think I recall out of position or weak tackling in another

@DMX fair enough, then I'd have JB on the bench.

Otherwise no surprises he chose his strongest lineup with Nepo being eased back in.

    It's not the strongest line-up.
    Akira isn't there.
