@MajorRage yeah good book. Just don’t read any of Clancy’s last few books, or the abysmal Tom Clancy’s (ie with other authors writing them) novels - execrable
Red Storm Rising is my equal fav book of all time (with Shogun)
And totally agree about the co-written efforts, just awful.

Never seen it, and couldn't make past an hour of Forest Gump.
Liked him in Sleepless in Seattle though

He was good in the da Vinci code as well
Was that the one where his haircut got best supporting actor?

Casino Royale
Been a few years since I've watched this & I barely remembered it. Is actually really enjoyable. The interplay between Craig & Dench is brilliant, & Eva Green is top quality totty. Le Chiffre is a quality bad-guy too, one with serious weaknesses, which you don't usually see in movies. Craig really is a cracking Bond. It loses a bit at the end though ... think the last 20-25 mins really could have had a better plot line.

@MajorRage the only bit i have never liked is the poker game
The bit where suddenly anyone can see his "tell" is cringy as fuck
"My god! the tell!"
And then a series of statistically improbable hands come out. fuck off. It's just so over the top for a "serious" bond

There is a worse bit.
I still wince if I hear about that movie. The chair and rope thing. Just fucking wrong. What sicko came up with that?Up there with the Marathon man dentist scene.

I loved Skyfall, thought CR was a bit dull - the card game was so looong and dull
Some would say suspenseful... But yeah that part was very much a slow burner

3.5 strange aeroplanes out of 5 bloody eyesthat has been on a couple of times in the last few months, sat down to watch it twice, i do enjoy it...but i fell asleep both times...its just so long, you think your getting to the climax at the casino...but not only does that drag there more after it!

Once upon a time in Hollywood
Yeah watchable, but pretty meh really, not something I'd highly recommend.
2.5 stunt men out of 5 dead wives.
Loved it
Solid 4 for meYeah, much better than I thought it would be. The scenes in Dalton's house are great.

Ian Fleming, though in the book he used a carpet beater. Slightly weirder if you ask me.

Okay, finally got around to Rambo: Last Blood.
Fuck. Soooo bad.
It was obviously some B-grade movie script, shoe-horned into somehow having John Rambo as the lead. And the shoe-horning somehow splattered shit over everything so that nobody gets to go home the better for it.
If I was the kind of piston-wristed-gibbon who used phrases like "destroyed my childhood" in reference to goddamn movie franchises... I gotta say, this shite was more worthy of that claim than any transformers or starwars or whatever else.
So shit.
