Given Maradona's lifestyle it's surprising he lasted this long.

A couple of anecdotes about him.
    (1) It's amazing how many Italian restaurants with owners/chefs from Napoli have a photo of Maradona on the wall. He was loved in that city.
    (2) My father was lucky enough to go to an Argentina-Brazil football match in Buenos Aires when he was working in Argentina. Maradona was in attendance. He told me that when Maradona was shown on the big screen the crowd all rose to their feet in respect.

It's amazing how a cheating fluffybunny who turned into a fat alcoholic druggy became a national icon.... There's hope for us all!

So funny that the Brits voted his first goal in 86 the worst example of cheating in football ever, and the one he followed it with the best ever full stop

Possibly not the most recognisable of faces but he did play the most iconic bad guy in movie history.

    RIP Lord Vader

I always assumed that it was Prowse's face we saw in ROTJ when Luke took off Vader's mask. But it was actually this guy

Another tidbit I stumbled on, the guy who voiced and played the hologram Emperor Palpatine in ESB was a Kiwi

He was replaced by Ian McDiarmid in ROTJ

RIP Pat Patterson, 79. WWE Hall of Famer, first intercontinental title winner, inventor of the Royal Rumble, agent for Hogan-Warrior at WM6... A great wrestler, but one of the greatest wrestling minds ever, and possibly the greatest agent in pro wrestling history (an agent is an industry veteran who helps wrestlers plan out their matches).
