So if it starts from scratch it is possible multiple teams could win 5 from 5 and it would come down to BP and PD. I almost would have thought the Aussies would have wanted the points to carry over to at least give them a shot of being in the top 2.

@chimoaus yeah seems like a missed opportunity to give the Aussies a chance without it being a complete gimme.

Under this system it's very likely the best two Kiwi sides will play two finals IMO.

Oh wells. Should be good regardless.

Do they have a final in the SRA 2021 comp or is it just points based?

I can only imagine the poor analysts at the start of round 5 trying to predict the possible outcomes when 5 or 6 teams could all make the top 2.

            https://www.rugbypass.com/news/hurricanes-sign-freakish-wellington-teenager-as-2021-squad-nears-completion/

Four of the five New Zealand Super Rugby franchises will announce their 2021 squads on December 1, with the Crusaders reportedly expected to name their squad the following day.

For some reason I thought it was the 3rd. 4 out of 5 of the Super squads are named tomorrow.

I read 7 am on Thu morning for the Chiefs unless that has also now changed.

Edit: This is what is written at the end of the articles about the re-signing of Ta'avao and Weber.

The 2021 Gallagher Chiefs Squad will be officially announced on Thursday 3 December.

The franchise confirmed ahead of this week's squad announcement for 2021 (7am Thursday) that their entire coaching group had reupped for next season at least as they look to make further ground in the wake of their 2020 breakthrough.

@Tim I reckon if he hadnt missed almost 2 full seasons with concussion issues, Kane Jacobson would be on a full contract somewhere, TBH I'm surprised he has made it back!

At 27, I think a super career has likely passed him by.

Also Matich wont let anyone down.

Anyone else going to pick a 38 man squad for their team? Midfield looks the hardest to cover this year.

All five NZ Super Rugby coaches will be on the Breakdown tonight to discuss the makeup of their squads for 2021. They won't officially be announcing the squads until later in the week which seems odd considering they used the Breakdown to announce them in 2019.

Perhaps all coaches will be doing this:

Don't miss our Head Coach Clayton McMillan on Sky Sport NZ's The Breakdown from 8.30pm tonight on Sky Sport 1 for the announcement of TWO NEW PLAYERS & some huge rugby chat!
