Hoping that Moses Leo gets a run ..this kid is rapid

Unfortunately he looked a bit injured or tired in second match.

Starts at 1pm today. Live on Sky. Roasting sunny day at the moment but that will probably change three times

The final placings after the round robin stage doesn't really mean anything if a team gets hot in the playoffs. All teams can still win the tournament.

Was kinda neat watching from behind the players benches yesterday. This is a great development event. Spreading the pro's across the teams is a great idea. Collier looked great at priming his team mates. Brazier and Hirini looked like great leaders too. Finals could go any way. Some of the newbies lacked confidence yesterday so continuity and team patterns were compromised. But I think these will be much better today and looking forward to seeing it.

I thought that a lot of the early disjointed play was an effect of not playing together much. Often there wasn’t a player backing up or cleaning/securing when required.
Friend’s daughter was very apprehensive in first game as expected but have to say that the coach and other players/captains have been amazing at giving her confidence. She got Lomu’d in the second game and that sparked her into getting involved. Suddenly fired and ran the play to break open the game at the end.
    Looking like a scorcher today.

Yes spot on analysis. I heard a few discussions. It will be interesting to see those who gel into team frameworks best. It will be the quieter more focused ones who shine through I expect.

Very hot indeed at Blake Park. The teamwork of the blue Surge team was a class above. Carlos Donnell Brown and Joel Cobb look like great prospects.

@ARHS I hate to admit it (I'm not really a fan of his in XVs), but Ollie Sapsford looked quite good, too.

Nice burst from Leo. Featherstone looks good and Etoni Waqa. Mcgarvey Black influential as usual.

Would love to see Northland have a crack at Moses Leo out of Westlake Boys High ..he’s the quickest midfielder running around in North Harbour ,only young but has an eye for outside gap..very impressed with Brady Rush as a play maker and his ability in the air and at breakdown..and in the womens Jorja Miller is sensational for a 16 year old

Jorja Miller is one for the future. In 2018, she already played at the World School 7s for NZ Dutch; last year, she played for the NZ Condor Girls team at the same tournament and was the tournament's MVP. This year, she was in the Crusaders U18 camp for XVs players.

I read somewhere that she also excells in other sports. That girl seems destined for top sport.

@Steven-Harris Yes, Sapsford looked strong. You could see why has a sevens contract.

Makene struggled a bit, I thought, although he looked better today than yesterday. The transition for a playmaker from XVs to sevens is harder than for a forward or wing; the decision-making is so much faster and he looked a bit hesitant at times. Not surprising, considering he was still playing Mitre 10 Cup, last weekend. I only wonder whether he's too small for top level sevens?

Tubic and Tui very influential in that win. I did not expect it. Jorja looks a great prospect
