@Steven-Harris Yes, Sapsford looked strong. You could see why has a sevens contract.

Makene struggled a bit, I thought, although he looked better today than yesterday. The transition for a playmaker from XVs to sevens is harder than for a forward or wing; the decision-making is so much faster and he looked a bit hesitant at times. Not surprising, considering he was still playing Mitre 10 Cup, last weekend. I only wonder whether he's too small for top level sevens?

Tubic and Tui very influential in that win. I did not expect it. Jorja looks a great prospect

@Stargazer said in Invitational, provincial, local & school sevens tournaments:

Jorja Miller is one for the future. In 2018, she already played at the World School 7s for NZ Dutch; last year, she played for the NZ Condor Girls team at the same tournament and was the tournament's MVP. This year, she was in the Crusaders U18 camp for XVs players.

I read somewhere that she also excells in other sports. That girl seems destined for top sport.

Very good basketballer I believe. Certainly looked the goods. Olive is same age in years but a bit younger and a year behind. She is doing the world team at Condor this year and has been Highlanders U18.
Most players here would be pretty good at at least one other sport I would think.

@Steven-Harris Akuila Rokolisoa has already played for the AB7s, so there's certainly a good chance he'll be in the frame again.

Men's final will be the Rokolisoa v Mcgarvey Black show. Exciting. Came to watch Cole Forbes and Leroy Carter and they have been good. But noticed who made the goal line desperation tackles that got his team into the final. Featherstone again.

Geez Hazel Tubic is a dynamo. More attitude than TJ and very effective in her teams win. But geez Jazmin Hotham is quick.

Moses Leo went into this tournament with a bit of a injury hence the strapping ..hate to see him when he’s fully fit , his ability to spy an outside gap is sensational...

My prediction of the Bolt women winning wasn't looking too good after day 1.
