    The Stranger on Netflix

    Well written, well acted, kept you guessing.

    Is that the Harlen Coben one?
    Only thing that throws me with those is the 'mid-atlantic' approach where it isn't properly Brit but is also obviously not Yank.
    Like that Sex Education show where the school setup is very American yet they are in the UK.

    Yes

    Know what you mean about the Americanisms

    The Undoing

    Really got into this eh and thought it built it all up brilliantly. Not sure about the end result, thought they may have come up with something more clever but a bloody good watch I'd say.

    I liked it.

    :::

    The verdict was never really in doubt, but the wife taking the stand to cement his guilt was the highlight (if you can call it that)

    :::

    Yeah...

    :::

    That annoyed me a little as if she was going to throw him under the bus I don't know why she wouldn't have done it earlier and/or more obviously. But yeah I guess the verdict wasn't in doubt so she could do it her way.

    I did a quick search and couldn't find mention but 'Swedish Dicks'.
    Took me a little while to tune in and now not sure how this hasn't been a more obvious find.
    Funny as a fight

    Well... going off to look for a torrent of that is going to be interesting...

    That’s actually one of the storylines. They get sued by a porn producer.

    Edit: if the prospect of titties ain’t enough, Keanu Reeves guest stars with a really funny twist. I won’t spoil.

    A Confession - Martin Freeman as a Detective who gets his man for the murder of a local girl, only for him to offer up another body during the arrest, and causes complications with the fact that he didnt follow 'protocol' during the arrest.

    Based on a true story, pretty good, highlights some of the shitty parts of the law, especially when you hear them talk about 'protecting the suspect'

    The Prisoner from 1967(!)

    I'm into classic films and heard about this as a classic, ground-breaking TV series and starting to watch on Prime. Written and produced by Patrick McGoohan, it's bloody great and obviously been a huge influence to shows like Twin Peaks & Lost.

    The production values are high and surprisingly, much of the tech isn't that outdated - the "robot" sentries are just as good and scary as anything today, if not more. It's a pretty timeless series which, for car freaks, even features a Lotus/Caterham 7....

    Yeah - watched that a few years ago... well worth it..
    But, my memory is vague - "robot" sentries - do you mean the zorb balls? I seem to recall finding those slightly amusing, but also - slightly sinister - and seeing how in the '60s - they would have been sinister and creepy as shit.
    BTW, "I am not a number, I am a MAN!"

    Yeah, they were weather balloons. The use of sound effects and the editing make them quite unreal and sinister.

    @Victor-Meldrew I remember it from its first showing although it was not something I was supposed to watch. In the UK they showed it again in the 80's and I was hooked. I had a mate over from NZ and a long session later I fell asleep and missed the very last episode 😞

    Filmed in Portmeiron which added to the creepiness.

    I'm just a bit staggered that a TV series made over 50 years ago looks so fresh and original.

    Started watching a Russian series on NEtflix - To the Lake

    an unknown virus strikes in Moscow, with people dying within a few days and a group of people try to head to a lake to sit it out.

    2 eps in and am enjoying it (with subtitles, havent tried the dubbing as most of the time it sucks)

    Based on a bestselling book, Vongozero

    Finished this last night, pretty decent, a few slow eps, but excellent last episode, setting up S2 nicely!

    A couple of the series I was watching on SoHo have now finished but this starts next week. Looks promising from the promo, and Bryan Cranston.
