    Very good team try to Hastings, scored by Alex Dickey. 7 - 5 Hastings.

    Then a yellow card for Cooper Flanders. Couldn't see what for.

    Geez, that was a costly card. Another try to Chch. 17 - 7.

    Very good thinking from Flanders who made a great break and could have gone to score the try himself, but passes the ball to his team mate Troydyn Bird to score under the sticks!

    The try is converted and Hastings Boys win the game 19 to 17 after being 17 to 10 down.

    WTF! Are the organisers trying to rob Hastings Boys of the win and their second place, or what?

    They didn't correct the above score, so Hastings Boys' finished third in the pool.

    They'll play their Plate/Consolation Plate quarter final against Rotorua Boys at 11.20am (field 3).

    @Stargazer
    The standard of goalkicking is rather varied. Have just finished watching my grand daughters team win 25 - 05 and they missed (very badly) all five conversions most of which were from directly in front! Maybe you just assumed a kick would have gone over, but was somehow fluffed, and added the scores in anticipation?

    @Higgins Nah, I saw the AR's flag go up! I even watched that game a second time to check. They also showed the score on screen and the commentator mentioned it several times.

    The standard of scorekeeping has been fairly shoddy at times as well so neither scenario would surprise me.

    @Stargazer Then there can only be two explanations. Either 1. the referee overruled the touch judge or 2. the referee and HBHS manager signed an incorrect score card.

    @delicatessen It's not the first time, either. A few years ago the same thing happened; don't remember whether it was Napier or Hastings Boys, but the mistake wasn't in their favour and affected their day 2 draw.

    @delicatessen Welcome to the Board. There are only about half a dozen of us diehard HB supporters on here so the more the merrier. We are extremely passionate about our area, teams and home bred players (even if they play elsewhere, but not when they are up against our teams of course!). We do take a bit of stick on here from time to time but don't let that put you off supporting HB!

    @delicatessen You should drop by more often as this site is a bit of an institution and somewhat addictive with many traditions etc going back a number if years that have to be kept up! Come ITM Cup time we also have a HB Tipping Team that takes on allcomers in a teams competition run on this board. We usually do really well but tripped up badly and only come home in a miserable 6th place last season. Maybe you would like to make yourself available for selection come NPC time as we might need some new talent next season!

    Another great try from Cooper Flanders, who chased his own kick. He tried that move yesterday, too, and failed. Good to see him succeed today.

    14 - 5 Hastings
