also this has started popping up on my "made for you" playlists
thought "pretty catchy little American rock track" chick has a cool voice, wonder if she is hot (fuck off, don't judge me, you would do the same thing)
turns out, in a pretty decent shock, it's one of the chicks from fucking Gossip Girl (if your significant other never subjected your to this show, you missed out, hot chicks everywhere)
any way, it's not bad

Love this track
Yep. One of the few covers that is better than the original I reckon (and I like Al Green).
Indeed. I don't listen to Green very often, but he's pretty cool. I definitely prefer the Byrne version.
A discussion of Cover versions of songs could well be a thread on it's own.

Let's get festive up in herrrrre!!

@R-L I'd prefer this dirty ditty
So good that it was sampled for this one too.

It's been well established on this website that AC/DC are the most essential basic rock and roll band outside of The Stooges. Dirty Deeds is one of their best in that vein:
But during the 80s they were as confused as anyone else, and they actually put out a pretty good new wave track:

Always nice when a band loses a singer but can continue where they left off. This track is a banger
Yeah, I saw their new singer on a clip from Download last year. He's exactly the same as Weiland.
Looking at that video though, the DeLeo brothers have swapped roles. Dean used to the semi-cool one whilst Robert looked like that bloke out of Everybody Loves Raymond. Robert seems to have slipped gracefully into middle age, whilst Dean looks like a fat old man trying to be cool.

A few of my mates said I looked like Robert while on stage playing bass.....I always get those two confused. Phew......if I ever get back on there I'll keep the hair short and the shades on.
It can't be denied they have a unique sound and have played a part in some fucken cool rock tunes though.

@MN5 The new singer is one of those times though when they have done their absolute best to go like-for-like and it actually works.
Normally new singers stamp their own style on it, but this bloke hasn't bothered at all.
Absolutely. No massive Bon Scott/Brian Johnson or Michael MacDonald/the guy who sang for the Doobs after Michael MacDonald switch here.
He's nailing it and they're doing their thing too. It sounds awesome.
