Leslie Knauer. Man I was hypnotised by that video when "Baby it's you" first came out. The bloke's her brother, so I assumed I was still in with a chance.

It was never on TV enough for my liking and there weren't VCR's in every home then so you had to strike it really lucky to see it. No surprise to me at all that it got to number one as I reckon every bloke in NZ was buying the single just so the video would get shown on Ready To Roll.

Edit: Just remembered it was probably the one time I remember my old man sitting quietly while RTR was on rather than telling us to turn that rubbish off. It never dawned on me at the time he was probably hypnotised too.

Finland doing something on this as well?

http://yle.fi/uutiset/study_over_half_the_population_supports_basic_income_scheme/8583547

"According to a recent survey conducted by the Foundation for Municipal Development, 51 percent of Finnish respondents support the idea of a basic income provided to all citizens of Finland. Just 23 percent indicated their opposition, with the rest undecided.

The clear majority, 68 percent, believe that a basic income from the government would make it easier to start a business, and would also mitigate the financial difficulties after the fact, if the business failed to succeed. Support for the idea came from all segments of the population, but the most backing came from entrepreneurs, the unemployed and students.

"The government has commissioned Kela, the national social insurance provider, to study the concept, calculate the costs, and run a two-year experiment to judge the feasibility of rolling it out across the country. The results will be evaluated in 2019."

The finnish social services are a mess and very expensive for the taxpayer as there are two instances, the aforementioned Kela and a Social welfare office and about a hundred different support payments. Anyone with half a brain understands that there is too much bureacracy and too many bureacrates running this shit.

That is exactly why the majority are leaning towards basic income and also becouse at present, if you are on social support/welfare and get a short term job, say 1-2 month with "possible" extension, you loose the welfare for 1-3 months afterwards, so long term unemployed people cant afford to take short term jobs and I can assure you, it is a MASSIVE shame in Finland to be unemployed, so the majority of unemployed people would take those part time chances of it wouldnt wreck their personal economies for months.

And to stay ontopic, I give you the former sports and Culture minister of Finland Tanja Karpela(Saarela)

https://media.riemurasia.net/albumit/m10001/483241510.jpg

The problem being that 'skinnier' people can be as unhealthy and unfit as a fatty - unless of course you just hire gym bunnies, but they'll likely be on the juice anyway ;).

Edit: My bad. I read her and her girlfriend before realising it was before she came out. And before she got married. However she was by all accounts struggling with her sexuality long beforehand.

She said at some stage that she was gay, got married, got divorced (because gay) got raped, viewed that maybe the rape was gods judgement on her for being gay. Then got married again. Thats some messed up shit. Good ole religious guilt...
